We took in a stray a month ago, and he and my other boy dog have to mark each other's territory all day-even after coming inside from their walks. We got them both neutered today and I'm hoping this will help.

What are some good techniques that work? I've met people that have trained their dogs so that they NEVER go in the house, and they can just open the door and the dogs do their business and come back in w/out wandering off. I don't know how they did it. Please help!

1 is a Rat Terrier Mix and 1 is a Mini Dachshund, both about 1 y/o.

more aggressive than normal domestic cats?
I've cared for a few long term cats in the past, and ready for one more. no kids in the house and no other pets.
I just need to know that I won't wake up to him/her standing on my chest licking their lips... or deciding my foot is a good play toy at 2 in the morning and wandering off with a toe.

My 3 months old puppy won't play with his toy but play with my roomate's dog's toys. I try to give him similar toys that my roomate's dog has but he would play with it for a while then always goes back to my roommate's dog's toys. I don't really like it when he does this since my roommate's dog has very bad flea problems.
Why won't he play with his toys? what other toys should I get him. He is starting to teeth. Also does your puppy go crazy with stuffed animal? My puppy looks possessed when he is biting his toys...as if he is trying to take it apart...it kinda scares me. I don't want him to be aggressive.

Its on the back of his front riight leg halfway up. He is 4 years old, indoor cat I noticed him limping the last week or so. We looked closer and he has long black hair so its hard to see the growth. Its very easy to see the white hair growing out the growth, its thick like whiskers. He got quite upset when we felt around the growth, but he let us move the leg freely. Anyone know what this might be?

I've had my Peek a Pom for a month now. She does great with Pee Wee pads. Our house is all ceramic tiles. She never pees or poops on the tiles but constantly poops and pees on our expensive rugs. Is it the Pee Wee pads...does she not know the difference? HELP PLEASE!

Does anyone know of any environmental enrichment that can be used for cows that are in tie stalls? I am a veterinary student and am concerned about one of our calves that has recently been moved from a regular stall to a tie stall & is not taking it well. I am familiar with enrichment items (for horses) that can be placed in normal stalls, but I cannot think of anything for a tie stall...

(I'd also like to point out that I do not agree with the viewpoint that cows = food only. I personally do not eat animals. I also believe that once you work with cows on an intimate level, you will see that they have very distinct personalities and deserve the best life you can provide them. I would appreciate if you would take this into consideration before answering.)

Anyway, I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

I recently bought a black-capped conure and I have some training questions... I've had her for about 4 months (she was a baby when I got her, so she's still probably pretty young). She is very affectionate and absolutely loves people, and has no problem stepping up if it means getting out of her cage. She's pretty good in the first five minutes of being out, but then she starts to get nippy. I have heard two different approaches to biting - don't do anything, or squeeze their beak. Which method is better? Also, she likes to sit on my shoulder and once she gets there she won't step up and will bite when I try. Suggestions? Also, I wanted to put some sort of towel in her cage for her to sleep under (she always goes under the paper on the bottom of her cage in the night, which makes it harder to clean) but she likes to chew things. Is it a problem if she chews it? And one more thing, any and all 'potty training' advice would be very helpful.

i have read on the net that it is mainly up to the bird, but i was just wondering if there are any people out there who have a few of these birds (such as breeders) who can tell me if either talks better than the other.
i just bought a congo parrot and he's lovely, he's 11 weeks old.

when did your african grey start talking?

thanx enjoy your day!!

I have 2 cats they are not scared of water!!! We are trying to teach them not to jump onto the kitchen bench,or hot stove with a water pistol, but they love it,they find it quite amusing just sittn there gettn soaked!! I asked my vet & he suggested i make a loud noise with a roll of newspaper, not even that seems to work, so if anyone has a magic way to tell the little darlings to get off certain surfaces in the household i would definately be trying it.....

My dog's upper lid is red and looks painfull. I just noticed today, and I don't know what it is. He is an indoor only dog, we never let him out and he has no contact with other animals. We take good care of him and someone is pretty much always with him, so we don't know when or how he might have injured himself. Does anyone have advice?
