Okay so I want this stray but tame kitten in my neighborhood. My mom says that she's fine with it, now we need my dad to confirm that i can have him. What should I say or Ask?

She dashes around the house, makes a weird squealing noise, pounces and attacks invisble objects, gets a wild look in her eyes and just generally goes wild. A few minutes later she's calm again. The cat is about a year old. Will she grow out of this?

I currently have a beta fish inside a small tank with gravel and plastic plants. Lately I have noticed algae growing more quickly and would like to know what fish are compatible in fresh water. I know Tretra can cohabitate with beta fish; however, I do not know what type of algae eater could equally coexist with those fish. I would appreciate some advice.

I think it's eating the berries on some ivy. It's certainly taking water from the bird bath, and hopping about in the bushes. I believe it's a male, because its head is black and he is white and grey.
I'm so pleased, because although we put out birds seeds and lard balls, apart from our regular Robin, we only get sparrows and black birds. Bluetits and Bullfinches pass through sometimes and occasionally we have a Jenny Wren. I'd love to know what else we could do to encourage these to remain.

i foster for the Houston Sheltie Sancuary (HSS) and i have a foster how loves to sleep in a kinnle. when i tell her to go to bed she goes and durring the night she sctaches the bottem of the kinnle. for the winter i placed extra pading in there to keep her warm and she is taring it up. and she also likes to lick her privit areas all the time and the sound all night long makes me sick. any sugestions on how to get her to stop and how i can brake the bad habits.

I've seen this mentioned here before (also, sorry for the betta spam :P) but I couldn't find the old questions.

I have a new 29 gallon tank that's been cycling for about a week. Assuming that the ammonia/nitrite/nitrate levels are safe, is it ok to add a betta to the tank before I've added the other fish?

My concern would be that the betta might decide the whole thing is its territory and not want to share with new fish when they're added. But I'm asking because I really don't know and don't want to end up causing fish fights... And just to double check, if it's just 1 betta (and no other fish that look like bettas) does it matter which gender I add? I'd prefer male just because the ones I've seen look cooler than the females I've seen.

I'm considering buying a pair of guinea pigs to share my little flat with. They will be indoor pigs. I don't have a garden, but I live across the road from a big park/nature reserve with plenty of quiet grassy areas. In the warmer months, will it be safe/beneficial to take my pigs there and let them have a little amble if they are on harnesses? I've seen someone walking their rabbit there (thankfully no ferrets, I know they wouldn't get on!). I want them to enjoy the fresh air and foliage and exercise but I worry that it might be overwhelming.

My gorgeous Burmese x girl has always favoured my Fiancee to me but since I became pregnant she always likes to sit with me and has become very affectionate towards me (she was always loving but quite aloof). She was spayed well before I got pregnant but do you think she can sense that I am having a baby? I would like to think she does but wondered if anyone else had experienced the same thing (additional info - she was spayed as soon as she was old enough so has never had a litter, thought perhaps this might be relevant).

neither parent were albino, but we had one albino from the first crop, and think there are two in this one, though it is too early to be sure, is it safe to leave the albino's un-neutered??

Hi,
I posted a question a while back and decided- yes, i would make a good shih tzu owneer. so, adopting a 19 month old from a reputable breeder- has been in shows ( he doesn't have the best markings but won one ukc) so well trained, microchipped and getting neutered this week. we met him and he was amazing- sweet lovable, friendly, answered to name- great on leash, followed commands-sit, etc...
anyway, we are getting him in a couple of weeks and i'm curious about how to handle the first day home. though he is house trained, it is a new house and routine. crate training stuff on line all talks about getting him used to the crate by coaxing him with treats, etc.. well, how would that get him used to it in one day... should he sleep in the crate- do we need to crate train him. also, all sites say to keep crate in room where we hang out. we have a split level and its mixed b/w dining room up and family room down - do we move crate, do we then move it to our room where he will sleep. we do have a 2 room area downstairs- linolium where he can hang while we are at work and school but we don't hang there much as a family and sites all say to start dog off in area of house where he will spend day-
please help to clarify all this for me.-
thanks,
ira

Some of the throw ups were very hairy..But the last 3 of them looked like a brown water. It is almost every 15 minutes..Other then that she looks OK. Should I take her to the vet or wait ? I never seen her throw up before..I changed her food 20 days ago..From One organic wet food to another...And she started eating more then she normally does. It's been 20 minutes since the last time she trow up. Please tell me what to do..She is 2,5 year old domestic short hair..Thank you all..

We have 2 cats. One isn't quite a year old yet and the other is 13 and partially blind from cataracts. The older one has traveled quite a bit--he used to be my mom's cat and rode 25 miles to the vet and rode down from Oregon to Los Angeles. He has lived with us since--2003. the young one hasn't been left longer than a few hours and is still in his 'into everything - destructive' stage. We will be car traveling and our destination is 3 hrs away, staying in a hotel room and they won't be alone in the room more than a couple of hours (closed in the bathroom). The alternative is they stay home with someone to feed and give them fresh water every day. But, she isn't a cat person--one of my friends who is a cat person will visit at least once to check on them but, she lives 30 miles away. I am worried about boarding them because the blind one gets disoriented--he feels safer when he is with us but, he is very familiar with home surroundings. All answers/suggestions welcome!!!

I have had my cat for 7 years. He has lived with my mom for about 3 years, since I couldn't have him at my apartment. He tore up my mom's couch really bad by scratching the corners. I am moving into a house, and I have new furniture (and yes, I replaced mom's couch as well!) and I can't have him tearing everything up. He is too old to get declawed, plus he likes to go outside, so I want him to keep his claws. Any suggestions on how I can get him to leave couches and chairs alone? What has worked for you?

I want to buy a male Rottweiler pup and raise him as a guard dog. What characteristics do I look for when choosing him from the litter?

I've come across a lot of abusive questions lately. I don't validate these people by answering them, I just click on "Report abuse" under the question. Maybe people who answer these questions should lose points not gain them. Maybe we as a "community" could help the Yahoo Team out and find a solution to this problem. For the most part, I've found this site to be very informative and helpful. Perhaps if a question is found to be abusive, anybody who answered it should lose points and not gain 2? What do you think?
