Okay so I want this stray but tame kitten in my neighborhood. My mom says that she's fine with it, now we need my dad to confirm that i can have him. What should I say or Ask?

Talk to your Father in an honest and open manner.
Just tell him whatever it is that you said to your Mother.
Don't beg, or cry or whine..that will get you nowhere fast.
Don't make promises that you don't intended to keep...such as I'll feed the kitten, I'll clean the litter box.
IF you tell your Dad you'll do those things, you MUST stick to it.

One thing you should remember is having a pet can be expensive, there is the first check-up with shots and tests.
Spay or neuter operation, litter box, litter, food, bowls, toys, bed, scratching post...DO NOT get the cat declawed it's very cruel..in fact it is illegal in most European countries...hopefully it will soon become illegal in the US also.
You'll have to teach the cat to use the scratching post.

I'm not trying to talk you out of this at all, I applaud you for wanting to take in this stray baby, but you have to be aware of the expense it will incur.

If you're old enough to have a job tell your Father that you'll pay for everything the cat needs...if you're to young to have a job and get an allowance tell him that you'll help pay for the things the cat needs out of your allowance.

Good luck and thank you for giving a stray a home...I work to re-home stray cats and kittens and it's always nice to see someone who's willing to help find these sweet creatures a new home and chance at a good long and happy life.

I am going through the same thing.....

However it is with my inlaws. My father inlaw does not want us to get a dog.

But please don't pull the I will clean and feed it everyday. That won't do it. Explain how you feel this cat should have a family that will love him. Tell you dad that even though this cat might be a stray it does need to be loved. I could never say no to my kids that is why we have 3 cats,2 chinchillas and a lizard and in a couple of months a border collie(we are moving out)

Ask your dad for a trial run say a month. And if things are fine then maybe he can agree to let you keep it.

Hope he understands

ok firstly in most places it is illegal to simply take in a stray and consider it yours. You MUST call your local pound or SPCA and report finding it so an owner has an opportunity to claim it.

THEN if you do keep it - you need to take it to a vet.

really its your parents decision since its their home, they will be the ones buying the food and paying the vet bills, PLUS they will be stuck with the kitten when you move out or go to College and cannot take it with you.
so if Dad says NO you need to respect that. save your money and when you move out you can get your own pet.

explain to your dad how much you think the cat will benefit you and your family also explain how good and respectful you have been and promise to do something for him that you will actually do tell him also that you will take care of it all on your own and follow through with all these things ....tell him if you don't you will get rid of the animal just like you found it

cry..... tears always work! Just kidding, you and your mom could sit down with him and ask him, explain that you understand the responsibility of owning and caring for a pet, then show him the kitty, nobody can resist a sweet little kitty!
