you get more for your money from this site.

Rosehips need to be properly prepared before they are fed to your chinchilla.

Are you looking for rosehip essence or rose hip whole? You can indeed get it from your health food store, but i'd advise asking a good veterinarian for information and see what they advise as for where to get it, and if they supply it and if theirs is different, why is it different, etc. You have to be careful what you buy, when it's for a pet they may not be able to take the same as what you might. Might need a different form.

heck, why don't you just grow your own? They are from the rugosa rose which are sold my most plant retailers. The rugosa are really easy to grow and hard to kill! The only down side is that they need to be kept in pots (or they will grow underground to new locations) and they have some serious spines on the plant. A good plant for keeping people away from your home though! :) Our own matured within a year and were producing rose hips.

Don't just give the chin rose hips. Many of these things have to be specially formulated. There are many things that are toxic to chins. If you find a vet (it need to be one that deals with exotic animals), they should either sell them or be able to tell you where to buy what you are looking for.

Try your local florist. They might have roses that are not pretty enough for bouquets and may sell them to you at a huge discount. You can always dry them yourself.
