Has anyone toilet trained their cat and if so how did you go about doing it? I would like to do that with my cat, I'm just imagining how much it would save on kitty litter.

The other day at work, I was talking to a co-worker of mine. She has a purebred female Westie. We somehow got on the subject of breeding, and she told me that she has a "breeding contract" for her Westie. The dog must have 2 litters of puppies, and then the breeder that sold my co-worker the Westie would give her the papers for the dog.

My co-worker told me that the breeder handles the mating, and then the Westie is brought to her about a week before she is due with the puppies. The breeder whelps the puppies, and keeps my co-worker's dog for about 5 more weeks after the puppies are born. I expressed mild surprise at this, always having thought puppies should be with their mom for at least 8 weeks.

Anyway, I thought I was fairly educated on issues involving breeding, but I have never heard of this before! Frankly, it sounds a little shady to me, but I could be completely off base. I'm just curious - is this a common practice? If so, do you think + or -?

I had a male beta and two guppies die of what I’m coming to understand was some kind of fungus. They developed a white foam almost looked like a cocoon all over their bodies. My question now is that I have one guppy left and I want to get him some friends to replace the ones I lost. He shows no signs of the fungus and it’s been about 5 days since the last fish died. Should I treat the water? Medicine? How long do I have to wait to add more fish? BTW it’s only a 2 gallon tank on my desk at work and I have already done about a 40% water change this morning.

How would you go about getting your animal involved in pet modeling for catalogs, etc.? I have a nine month old golden retriever with the perfect face, and it's something I'd like to look into. Any ideas?

I live on flat ground,(mostly concereat) and have an ok sized yard and can feed and clean the dog and give it all it needs. I want a small dog, but since my mom hates dogs, it can't live inside and i know that they were meant to live inside so i was thinking of building something on the varande facing the door inside my room, where no rain and drafts can get in so the dog can come in when i really needs to. Since my mom hates them i will have a dog pen infront the door with some news papers blanckets and towels and so. So it will be alright. i dont mind grooming unless its not over 4 times a week. I dont mind brushing, cuting hair and nails, bathing and brushing teeth. I have enough money to but it special things it really needs.

P.S I heard That they had dog breed selectors so can you give me the website to one?

Thanks in advance. (I was thinking of getting a hvanese, what do you think of that for me?)

I am trying to get my 2 year old dog in the habit of being walked every day. All she wants to do is pull and pull, and I end up being dragged behind her! I dont know how to control her and I don't want to be the one being walked every day.

I have a kitty with little worms. They look like little pieces of rice. Will a piperazine solution treat these types of worms? If so, how do I get it down him. Big Fat Bob Cat is on to my plan and now he won't ingest it. Should I syringe it into his mouth?

We have finally got our mini pin paper trained, and we have him in a crate and take him outside but he wont go potty. As soon as we come back in he heads for the paper. I tried the dog liter but it was awful stuff, wouldnt expect him to use it, but what about cat liter?? He is only 5 pounds.

I have a cat that is rougly 6 or 7 months old. Since the day I got him he has been glued to me. He drives me crazy. When I get home from work, he's at the door right where he was before I left in the same spot, when I go take a shower he's right there. When I go to bed and I wake up in the middle of the night he's laying on my chest or up on my neck. He is stuck to me like glue. I push him away and he comes right back. I spray him with water, he's right there again. Any suggestions????

It is about that time for her to go into her second heat, but she had a litter of puppies her first time around, and i didn't do it on purpose.I do have a male at the house that is not fixed. It seems about a month early for her to go into heat, but she seems to be humping and licking my arm a lot. and my male seems interested as well the last few days. it's not as bad as her last heat, he isn't crying or digging to see her. I DON'T WANT HER TO HAVE ANOTHER LITTER. i know the best solution would just be to seperate them. but i don't want to go sending my male off to someone's house if its not really the right "time".. she doesn't show any signs of bleeding at all. Does anyone have any advice? I'm just confused because she isn't bleeding, and usually that comes first before she wants to accept the male. PLEASE HELP

She has been through one course of Cortizone and was off of it about 3 days when the pain returned. I got another course of it last night and started her on it. She seems much better today. My question is what are my options for her if this doesn't work when she gets done with it? The pain must be terrific, she didn't sleep much if all last night and I know I didn't. She is a wonderful dog and I hate to have to put her down but she can't go thru life in pain like that. I am pulling my hair out and I was almost bald to begin with. Can somebody please advise?
