Petfinder.com - it's free

petfinder.com, or craiglist are great. Best is to just locally adverstise it papers, and putting up flyers, some shelters and local rescues can help with getting word out that you have some puppies but they will try to home there own first before giving them out. Please dont give the puppy for free unless you know the owner super well. Though its not proven that charging money will make a owner responsible. People are still abusers whether they pay alot or not. Get some rules for your puppy. Ask alot of questions about the care and the use of the dog so that the people buying know your serious about getting the puppy a good home.

craigslist.com is good and you can advertise only locally so you'll have more hits, and/or www.livedeals.com which has a live animals section (again, you can select the place you want to advertise at so you'll have more local folks seeing and responding). There might be other local places around you--we have a small local newspaper that comes out once a month; most of our pet stores have a board you can tack "Wanted" "For Sale/Adoption" "Lost" and "Found" (and some others) ads on. My vet's office has a small board you can put a 3x4" ad on for a limited time. Some supermarkets and grocery stores have cork bulletin boards where you can post ads.

You will never find a good home on these sites. Contact a "no kill" rescue organization and all of the local vets. Tell them that you will keep the puppy until a suitable home is found, then do house checks before you part with it. None of us know you, obviously you are not an idiot who bought this puppy and failed to train it. Perhaps you are a knew owner who needs advise, there is no one who will adopt an older puppy who is not toilet trained. If you would prefer to keep this puppy there are answerers like Mama Bass who can help. Re-type your question if you want to keep this puppy, we all want to help.

With the right kind of publicity someone here on yahoo answers might be generous enough to buy the puppy from you, write what state are you from and about the puppy, not forgetting how much you want for it.

Petfinder.com is only for Animal Shelters and rescues and stuff. I would reccommend taking it to a no-kill shelter and they can give it a good home.

Yahoo! classifieds, and www.craigslist.org are both free sites, and well read.

Try the posting at local pet supply shops, groomers, and vet offices, as you are likely to find prospective owners who give good care to their pets.
