Thank yo for everyone who answered my earlier question about spaying my dog. I found a vet who will do it for about half price but they can't do it for a month. They said that they can do it even if she is already pregnant. But if she is already bred and I have to wait a month, isnt that a little risky? Has anyone had experience with this and how did it turn out?

its been going on for about 6 weeks, we noticed she had fleas so we treated her with the liquid drop kind. She bites whatever she can and her legs go limp and she pees. Last night, she jumped on my lap and I rested my arm on her back and she immediately bit my arm and would not let go until my husband helped get her off me. She peed all over me and this is the 3rd time I have delt with this so I am looking for answers. She is otherwise a healthy cat although very large. Not fat but a big cat.

I have to go away for 2wks & there is no one else to look after my cat, who will be just over 1yr old. I am really worried about leaving him in a cattery, but seem to have no choice. What are peoples thoughts, any hints on what to look out for?

Does anyone know any good cattery's in the Midlands area ??

my hubby and i have been raising pits for 10 yrs now.we have 4 kids ages 3-9.our dogs have always been well behaved respectable pets, that listen, obey, play, and love. i think it is so sad that people buy these dogs for whatever reasons, and mistreat them, train them to be fighters, and so on. a pit wants to make it owner happy, regardless of the consequence. or if its mistreated, they will act upon that, as ANY dog would. and with thepit being a very powerful dog they do more damage, which in the end, gives them bad attention. i would just like people to know that they are great family dogs, so many people are too scared of that idea. they really are a great breed. i just wish everyone could treat them correctly(owners and outsiders) tell your views

For about a week our yellow parakeet started falling off his perch. His legs seem very weak. His droppings are sort of loose. Actually the droppings cling to his rear and dry. We have to carefully cleanse him every other day or so. He stays huddled in the bottom of his cage and sleeps most of the time. His appetite remains good, in fact maybe better than usual. He eats nutriberries, which are mostly seeds, and avicakes, which are also mostly seeds. When he is well, he will eat peas, corn, brocolli, bread. Lately he doesn't eat his veggies very well. I would say his legs seem like they are paralyzed and very weak. He tries to walk, but he just kind of flops along. I read that if a bird has paralysis give him Vitamin E, so we have been putting a drop or two of Vitamin E on some spray millet and he eats it very well.
I don't like to take him to a vet because it might stress him out and I'm not sure there is anything to be done for him. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks

My puppy is a 5 month old male Minature Pinscher, house breaking is going well but we are having a problem that he intermittantly pees on one of his front paws.

How can I get him to stop this?

Other than frequent bathing of his front paws how can I control the odour?

I am planning a Vacation and I would like to take my cat with me. It takes about 10 hours to get there, but he really doesn't like to ride in the car, he gets car sick. What can I do to make him get use to the car ride? He doesn't like to be home alone and I really want him to go with us.

I would like to set up a 10G fresh water aquarium. I have the tank setup and bought rocks.

I plan to buy fake plants. Where should I put them and how dense should they be? Should the rocks be flat across the bottom or should they slope?

I plan to purchase any of the following: guppies, cichlids, angelfish, guaramis, tetras, barbs, etc.

How many happy fish can I actually keep in my tank? Should I use the 1" / 1G calculator?

Is it true they will be melancholic if not kept in a school of 5+?

I have to go to school during the day, so I leave my 2 year old pug loose in the house and put down pee pads for her to use. When I come home, the pad usually has pee on it, but she leaves turds where ever she wants. I even leave down another pad in a different place, in case she doesnt want to pee and poo in the same place. What should I do to show her I want her to poop on the pads too?

She's odd in this. She isn't trying to tip over the bowl like as in the other question.
What she does, is goes to the drinking bowl, and sticks in her paw and slashes it out! One of our water bowls for the cats is quite large, and she makes a horrendous mess of it all over the floor. I tried filling it to the top (as it's about two inches deep), in case she didn't like the feeling of her whiskers brushing the side of the bowl. Apparently not the issue. She's still doing it.
The bowl upstairs is a tiny one about 1/2 an inch tall, and about three inches wide. And she does the exact same thing with this one.
Anyone have any ideas? I have two other cats, so need keep out the water.
Thanks ahead of time

I currently feed my 2 kittens on James Wellbeing dry food, and Nutro wet food.

They love the broth in the Nutro and lick that up like it's going out of fashion, but are very reluctant to eat the meat and tend to leave it till I have to chuck it away.
I want to feed them a good quality food (no cheap, nasty stuff for my babies) and also want to give them something they like as well. I can't really take the wet food away, as they love having the choice, and they prefer pouches to tins (because of the different texture I think).
What to people recommend?
Thanks

My dog is in heat and keeps getting loose. I called the vet to get her spayed. It is going to cost upwards of $200. We have had some medical expenses and I cannot afford this. They told me they would not let me make payments and I had to get it done within the week or I have to wait and let her have puppies. I still have three of the last litter she had. I have tried to find her a new home where she can be taken care of but no one wants her. The pound is so full that she will be put down within hours and the shelter only takes abused animals. I have called everyone and explored every option. I don't know what to do. I love my dog but I can't afford to spay her right now and I can't afford to let her have puppies. I am sitting her crying because I don't want to have her put down. What can I do?

I have 2 dogs. One is a Mutt and the other one is a Siberian Hushky. When I tied them up near the dog house they listen to me to whatever I told them to do like..Sit, Bark, Lay Down, Stay, and Stand up. But... when i put a leash on them.. OMG its a nightmare......they started to pull and run. I tried calming them down by giving them treats and such needs. I tried spraying tiny drop of water on their faces but they still pulling on the leash. Most of the time, I couldn`t even hold them back. I don`t want to unleash them because I don`t want them to tear up the nieghbor`s garden. PLZ tell me what should I do.....

There is a guy on here that has been attacking me
for taking it stray litters.. He does not know how I live or how my dogs live alot the questions I ask are for a friend also..To call some one a puppy mill is awful and really hurtful.. if you new me you would be able to ask the people i have placed puppies with.. Thhey come to my home to surrender and to adopt.. Most of the puppies I take in are on the way to the pound I am not a puppy mill front.. I can honestly say that I have never purchase from the same person ... all the dogs i recieve are from people that didnt fix there pet.. I give them a long lecture that most of the puppies will probley end up in and shelter in latter years even if they are place in great homes people die people get devorce things dont work like you want them to... so fix your dogs...I am good with God I have had many poelpe praise me for what I am doing....and just because you take a class at petsmart doesent make you a trainer
