You can, but you have to be careful about what sort of shampoo you use. Never use something like Pantene, Pert, etc. Also never use a shampoo that is tinted for colored hair. I have used aussie on my dogs when they hopped in the shower with me. It doesn't dry their skin out. Just never use it on puppies, and avoid their face.

Always use a shampoo formulated for your dog. Dogs’ skin is slightly thicker than cats’ at 3-5 cell layers, but that’s still much thinner than human skin. Any type of human shampoo will be at least three times too harsh for your dog’s skin.

BTW ~ Baby shampoo can be fatal to cats. It's a big no-no.

Yes you can if it's really diluted and you must use it. It is not recommended that you use human shampoo on dog's coats and fur because it will deprive the dog of the natural oils that are needed to produce a healthy skin and fur. If used daily it can cause your dog to have fur/hair loss, dry skin, dandruff, etc.

Human hair and dog fur have different nutrients needed to help produce healthy hair for humans and fur for dogs. The best thing to do is to purchase dog shampoo in the pet section of any supermarket or in the dog area of a pet store.

They don't have the same amounts of oils in their skin as we do so make it a very mild one but yes you can use people shampoo on dogs without hurting them.

it won't hurt him, but i would use a mild formula like a baby shampoo. the only reason is that a harsh shampoo, like pert for example, might dry the dogs skin out and make him itchy!
