Letting the dog run around the neighborhood thru the yards and streets because it won't stay in the yard or getting an invisible fence and using it to train the dog to stay home? I don't need a lecture about either, I just want intelligent opinions. I think it's unreasonable to expect every dog owner in the world to have the dog trained to stay in the yard without some barrier - invisible or not.

My hamster's cage will get smelly, and my hamster will start to smell just like it. However, when I clean the cage, my hamster will continue to smell. How can you prevent this?

I have a female cat that is always meowing though I cannot find the cause. She has water, food, and a clean litter box. This is beyond normal noise making. I have three other cats and they hardly ever meow. As far as I know she is in good physical condition. She's been to the doctor and had shots.

I've recently purchased 2 cats from the rescue they are both 5 month old a male and a female

The male always wants to bite me
Its always my socks or any part of skin or flesh

He'll rub up against my clothes say for instance my t-shirt and when he gets to my arm (skin) he'll bite it and it bloody hurts!
Or he'll rub up against my jogging bottoms and when he gets to my feet he bites my socks
If he cant reach with his teeth he'll grab my skin with his claws and pull my arm in and bite it

Is this aggressive behaviour or playful because sometimes he rolls onto his back and if i try and rub his belly he claws my hand towards his mouth

How do i go about letting him know that biting my feet / socks or any flesh is bad!?
I've kinda said NO!! and moved my feet away but he just chases them and once or twice ive held him away from my feet and he persists on getting to them

I just want to let him know its bad and i need to stop him doing it

Thank you for the advice on the fleaes. I washed the kitten with dawn dis detergent, that's what the vet said. I soaked her and scrubbed her well and picked the dead fleas off of her and there were a lot. I dried her and still found two, but they were dead and just on her. Most of the dirt is all gone too. I purchsed a flea and tick powder from Hartz for the basement floor to kill any eggs or fleas down there. Now more importanly is the kitten ready for her flea medicine I got from the vet? Should I wait one more week, since he is only 7 weeks old? It says to wait until they are 8 weeks old. Or should I bath him again and keep searching for fleas? So far I havent spotted any on her white towel. I am washing the old towels and cleaning out her cage. What next?????????? Thanks!

Trying to do the right thing. My tshi szu mix got his first two sets of shots on time. The third set was about three weeks late. We are about three weeks late for this set. I absolutely cannot afford the shots. the last time I took him the vet chastised me for being late. I explained the financial situation and instead of helping me to make arrangements, he told the tech that I would have to pay for the next office visit (I got him from a store and for the amount I paid for him the first three office visits were covered) I wanted to go to a different vet but they want his shot records. I can't afford to pay the fee for a copy of the records and then go pay for a new office visit and the shots. I'm trying to do the right thing by having my pet vaccinated but why must they make it so difficult for us. I've concluded that the original vet is an *** and I don't want to give him my money to attack and insult me.
Should we start over with a new vet? Should I skip the last set?

He sees his reflection and attacks. He scratches our mirrors and poops on our cars. This menace must be stopped!

I know that I can't cut the quick/pink part, but there's still lots to poke me with if I just trim off the tips. When I trim my dog's claws, I trim off quite alot since they would just wear down anyway as he walks. But I don't know whether doing this to my cat would bother him. Btw, because he is a indoor cat, he doesn't need to defend himself, or get a chance to hunt.

Any help appreciated. I'm tired of being all scratched just because my cat scratches me as we are playing. Although I know he doesn't mean to hurt me, it still bugs me anyway. But I also know that a cat needs a bit longer claw in order to climb up things as he plays. So I am confused.

We have a small Tibetan Spaniel - kind of like a pekingese - and she has a nice large tick right above her right eye. I've removed ticks from dogs before, but because this is so close to her eye, it's really problematic.

She shies away from the comb or tweezers. I've tried holding her head as absolutely still as possible but she wriggles her body, and then also has trouble breathing (they don't have that great nasal passages to begin with) and we're still afraid we're going to poke out her eye.

Short of taking her in to the vet are there any other ideas? We treated her with Revolution right near it, hoping that will eventually get rid of it, but we'd like to physically just remove it if possible.

Hi my bird has been plucking feathers.
She lives in a large cage out side 6 ft high, 2 x 3 metres wide, This cage is based outside about 10 metres away from the house..
I think the feather plucking is from stress and boredom..

Would it stress her more if i bought a metre high cage and bought her inside sometimes?
