she may just want a lot of attention. i have a female cat who meows constantly as well. its really cute, except when you're trying to sleep, and it turns into more of a howl because she thinks we're ignoring her/cant hear her. we started giving her wayyyy more attention, and now she still meows, but doesnt wake us up in the middle of the night.

Here are some tips on correcting incessant meowing:
Ignore it. This is the most effective way to stop constant meowing, but also the most difficult. The meowing usually gets worse before it gets better, but eventually your pet will learn incessant crying doesn't work.. So don't give in, no matter how awful the caterwauling.
Deter it. If your cat starts meowing every morning at 4 a.m. because she's up and you aren't, give her a quick blast with a hairdryer or squirt bottle. Be subtle so she doesn't associate you with the unpleasantness.
Distract your pet. Cats often meow because they're bored. Leave a few toys around so your cat will have something to play with whenever she's in the mood.
Maintain a regular schedule. Cats are creatures of habit and will let you know they're upset about changes in their routine. A regular schedule means a happy cat.
An important note: Sudden, non-stop meowing from a normally quiet cat could indicate illness. If your cat meows plaintively when trying to eat, groom herself or use the litter tray, consult your veterinarian immediately.

first thought that comes to mind... is she spayed? How old is she?
If this is new behavior in a gal you've had for a while-did it start right after she had her vet trip? Any new stresses/scares happen about the same time as the talkies started (new living quarters, additons/osses to the family in either pet or human form, anything different in routine,,, are YOU stressed and her picking up on it)? I'd give the vet a phone call to get their thoughts on possible causes. Pick her up and inspect her with your eyes and hands- look for any bumps, bulges or cuts that don't belong. See if anything seems tender to touch from nose tip to the end of her tail, back, belly and all the legs down to the toes.
Sometimes a cat will just start being pretty vocal after being a silent buddy.
Sorry I'm not much help beyond that.

Lol my cat is the same. Sometimes, they don't know how loud they are meowing, and tend to do it very obnoxiously. I haven't found a solution for my cat yet either, but it might also mean she wants more attention. When she meows, go to pet her and get her purring. This should shut her up for a little while!

some female cats have to tell you everything that hjappened during the day. if she is not crying when you pick her up and does not sound in distress, then just talk back with her--tell her thankyou for the details of her day, and let her know you are happy she took such good care of your home--she has been on guard all day while you were gone--let her know you are listening, and she will stop talking when she has tld you everything she needs to say. talkative cats are frustrating sometimes, but they are fun--they are always telling you what is going on--even if you cannot always figger it out--you will, just pay attention to what and where kitty is meowing.maybe there is a mousie or birdie that caught her attention and she needs to get it out of her system by ta\elling you about it.all kitties talk to their people--some more loudly than others.

She may just be a vocal kitty... Asian cats tend to be more vocal. My cat meows non stop - in the morning when I wake up, in the evening when I get home, when I'm sleeping, when she's hungry, when she has food, I mean it doesn't matter she just talks and talks and talks - she even answers when I call her name.... I actually think it's really cute. You have a unique kitty... enjoy!

Think of it as "CatDar" (like Radar).
She is letting everyone and everything know where she is at all times.
Some Cats (and cat breeds) are just VERY talkative.
You could try to get her hooked on a system where you open Dialog with her. Some things you do physically and verbally can Trigger " It's time for us to talk,.. I am listening to you,.. now reponde to my words". This may reduce her random talking.

Is she "fixed?"
If not she might be in heat. Don't let her out of the house or around male kitties unless you want kittens!
What kind of meow is it? Is it scared? Is she just talking to you...wanting attention? Some kitties are just attention hounds (like mine). Also, if she is a Siamese, Burmese, or another talkative breed or mix...it's in her genes to talk a lot. I have a black cat (most likely part Burmese or Siamese) who has to talk to me every morning and every evening when I get home from work. As soon as I give him attention he quiets down.
There is most likely nothing wrong with her....she's just chatty. Let her know she is loved and cared for and talk back to her....she might like that.

What breed of the cat? And is she neutered? If it is a siamese then those kinds always meow. And if she was not neutered, she is looking to mate, or to possibly go out and looking...
