He sees his reflection and attacks. He scratches our mirrors and poops on our cars. This menace must be stopped!

use a plastic owl, put it near the cars. you can get it at a lawn and garden center. he is trying to show dominance by attacking the reflection of himself. the owl "scarecrow" is more dominant and he will leave the area.

in most states, it's against the law to kill songbirds.

As it was said in a previous post simply cover the mirrors, after the cardinal looses interrest in visiting your car then try leaving the mirrors without a cover, if it doesn't work the first time try again. If you have a bird feeder close by try changing it place. Ff you can park your car elsewhere try doing so as it might work as well. Whatever you do do not harm the bird, they are Federally protected under the Migratory Birds Convention Act, harming the bird is a federal offense.
