I had three goldfish in my tank, 1 comet, 1 common, and 1 shubunkin. Anyways, the comet goldie had fungus, so I treated the water with meds until he was cured. The day after he was cured, the common goldie got fin rot!!! First of all, why didn't that fish absorb the meds in the first place? Why did he get fin rot right after I put in meds that could cure fin rot and fungus??? Anyways, I put more meds in, and he got worse and died!!! And those meds were supposed to cure fin rot, fungus, and a variety of other diseases... why did that fish just die on me like that???

And PLEEEZ don't tell me "They're goldfish. They die fast!" Umm, noo!! Goldfish have a lifespan of 20 yrs+ if you take care of them, which I do. And if I put meds in, it's not exactly supposed to die.

Fish experts, pleeez help! Why did this happen!?

I work full time and I have an outdoor dog. I feel guilty leaving him outdoor during the colder weather even though he has a dog house and blankets. I know dogs acclimate themselves to the weather but he's a pit bull so their hair isn't very long. I can't put him in the garage because its too junky and I'm afraid he'd tear some stuff up or even swallow something he wasn't supposed to. Please, no answers from those high and mighty pet lovers that think pets are people and shouldn't live outdoors. I love my pet too but he's still an animal.

Aside from a super fluffball. Her coat usually isn't so messed up, I think she'd just woken up or something... oh and her individual strands of fur are really kinky like crimped hair. But altogether her fur looks smooth.

Some of my puppies were found to be deaf as is their mother (unilaterally) by baer test. I kept a male puppy with the hopes of continuing my line (border collies). He baer tested as bilaterally hearing. I was unaware of his mother's status until I ran into a deaf puppy. The Merle gene is not in my line, just white heads. The vets can not answer my questions so breeders what is your advice? Is there a fix? Are the risks too high? Can your experiences help me?

My 5/6 month old kitten keeps trying to suck on my eyes, especially at night. I know that it's a variation on wool sucking and she's doing it for comfort. But it's driving me crazy! She wakes me up repeatedly by licking my eye sockets.

I posed this question before and someone suggested wearing a mask over my eyes at night. Well, I tried it, and the kitten ripped the mask off me. I'm not kidding. She grabbed it in her teeth and pulled it off until the eye was revealed so she could suck away. But not before waking me up every hour to suck on my chin, nose, earlobe, or anything else she could get her mouth on.

Will she grow out of this? Has anyone else had this problem? I'm desperate for ideas.

My dog is 1 1/2 years old (beagle) and my cat is around 6 years old. They don't get along at all. We have to separate the house with baby gates, but I would like to be able to have my dog and cat run freely through the house without chasing each other and fighting.

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil - A Brazilian state is offering to implant electronic microchips in thousands of pit bulls this year, allowing dog owners to track their pets and enabling the government to punish those whose dogs are involved in attacks, an official said Wednesday.

An estimated 6,000 pit bulls in Belo Horizonte, some 270 miles northwest of Rio de Janeiro, will have the chips inserted near their spines allowing their movements to be tracked, said city health department official Maria do Carmo de Araujo Ramos, who is overseeing the program in the city, the capital of Minas Gerais state.

Ramos said the chips would help dog owners find lost pets while helping authorities enforce the law.

"Abandoned dogs are a huge problem in Minas Gerais," Ramos said by phone. "If an abandoned pit bull attacks someone, even kills them, the person who abandoned the dog is responsible for the attack and needs to be punished."

Two state residents were killed by pit bulls this year, and 600 attacks were registered.

The state will pay for the procedure, which is not mandatory but strongly recommended, and the dogs and their owners' personal data will be entered into a state database. Mandatory registration took effect in August but the law has largely been ignored, Ramos said.

In Rio de Janeiro, laws require that pit bulls be kept on chains, be accompanied by someone over 18 and be walked only during the daytime.

I was told that chickens get up and move around at night, so they should have all of the benefits and toys they have in the day time. I have a flock of eight chickens. Does anyone know if they really are active, or if thats a myth? Thanks a lot, and I'd love to know the website you got the info from too!

My cat has systematically ruined EVERY pair of shoes that I own. EVERY LAST FREAKING PAIR!!! He goes into my closet and pi**es everywhere. I can't use my closet anymore as it smells like cat urine and I can not get the smell out.

1. How do I get the smell out

2. How do I keep him from doing it.

He has about 3 days (until sat) to quit this. Last time he did it I told my son that he was GONE...but I really honestly can't get rid of him....eventhough my foot did come into contact with his *** yesterday...he is my sons cat so I would feel bad if I took him to the pound.

Any suggestions?

And yes...he can open the closet door.
