I agree, people who abuse animals usually have been abused themselves or traumatised at a young age and so believe it is okay to hurt an animal .. or take there fustration out on something that cannot fight back. I have no compassion for these people and they should have sought proffesional counselling or therapy before acting out their violent ideas on poor animals. I get really upset when people who abuse their animals get away with a few hours of community service in my eyes ... I would look them up in jail till they feel some remorse. The amount of animals abused just after christmas always rises as unwanted christmas gifts get abused and abandoned... My two lovely girls who are chihuahua x. corgi were adopted from the s.p.c.a their owners abused them and left them at home with no food or water while they went on holiday. The s.p.c.a won the court case and we adopted my two little angels.. Now there are spoiled with pats, gifts, love and affection they get treats and toys all the time. When an abused animal finds a loving home .. it is the best thing in the world...

Many people abuse animals because they want to feel dominate because they are tired of feeling dominated by something or someone. they think it is ok because it is not a human. Which I am glad they are making more laws on the protection of animals....

as hard as it seems many people believe animals can't feel pain and don't have emotions. this came from the whole darwinism thing. also people sometimes get a pet but aren't prepared fro think she wasn't used to barking and it annoyed her and she didn't understand she was hurting hte dogs

Some people abuse animals because it makes them feel like the stronger species, when actually they are showing their weakness.

Probably they were unprepared to have an animal in their home, and don't know how to take care of them. Instead of taking the time and effort to train their pets, they use the fast and easy way to stop unfavourable behaviour: violence.

if u abuse ur pet you need to be put in jail or if u have more than 2 offences mabey put to death!!!!that is so mean i lov my dog so much i cant imagine hurting them
