she can have babies without out a male as long as she has had babies before (you want proof i will send you a picture of my female who had babies 2 weeks ago and now you can see the little eyes in her) cool. I will tell you why, after the male inseminates her she stores sperm. (wild i know). but the first one is right it probably has something to do with the water. you may also want to let her be for a few more days, having babies is a lot of stress. you may want to think about getting a 1 gallon tank and letting her rest for a few days. GET BETTER FISHY!!

She will NOT have babies without access to a male, nor was she born pregnant. If she there are no males in the tank, she was probably pregnant when you got her from the petstore.

For starters, take her out of the breeding net. A breeding net is a very stressful place to be for a fish. It's small and she can't swim. Let her go in the tank, give her a chance to relax, then offer her some food. Try delicious foods that no fish can refuse, like frozen bloodworms or brine shrimp (they come either in large flat plaques or in ice-cube-type format - put a piece in a fish net and run warm water on it till it melts, then put in fish tank, but try to only put 2-4 worms or shrimp per adult fish).

Make sure you keep your water clean (replace 20-30% of the water every week) and make sure you use dechlorinator to neutralize the chlorine.
Adding some plants and other hiding spots (live or fake) to the tank will make her feel more secure.

Also, your tank should be more than 8 gallons in size.

You should invest in a testing kit which tests pH (your's should be between 6 and 8 for guppies), ammonia, nitrites and nitrates, and anything else.

Guppies aren't born pregnant, but like all the livebearers the females can store sperm for a couple of birth. Guppy generally only get 2-3 unlike molly who can sometimes have 3-4 birth. As far as the one you have this doesn't sound like it's pregnant, but more like she's sick. A pregnant live bearer will tend to hide, chase away other fish, and eat a lot. Also she'll have a swelled belly, but that can also be caused by dropsy. In general with pregnant a livebearer a high protein food like freeze dried brine shrimp will speed things up. (Blood worms also work well, but the brine shrimp is good food for the fry.)

Believe it or not some fish can be BORN pregnant! Wild, I know. You might want to test the balance of the water - for her strange behavior - usually strange behavior can be caused by an impalance in the ph of the water. A neutral ph of 7 would be best for your guppy. Good luck!

yup . she will have several births without a male. how long hasnt she eaten? she could be bound up with babys, for several reasons, lack of male to stimulate her into contracting, age, or too many. brine can help as a stimulant but dont let her go for too long. eventually if she is bound she will turn toxic and die
