We have a 3 months old baby and are very concerned about hygiene. Are there any technical devices around, like sound emitters etc you can atttach to your cat's neck?

I think cats are easy, although cleaning the litterboxes and around the litterboxes can get aggravating.

Want to get a small, furry pet. I live in an apt. and don't have a whole lot of free time during the day so was thinking of something other than a dog or cat. Had a hamster once, but it got sick and died a few months later. Still have the cage and stuff though, so i was thinking of getting something along the same line (gerbil, ferret, guinea pig). I would like some feedback on what types there are and some of their characteristics. I've done research so I'm mainly looking for personal experience here. (i.e. which types make good travel companions if necessary, which types tend to be more aggressive (biting) and which seem to have a friendly nature, male or female, which ones have less odor and mess, easy to care for, ect). I don't mind if they're nocturnal, but I .would like to be able to hold it and play with it without being bitten...and would love it if it didn't run away when I got it out. Already have a fairly large hamster cage, but wasn't necessarily wanting another one.

I have a bassett that will be 9 months old soon. I feed him once a day a full large cup of dry dog food. If I feed him more he will just dump the bowl over in his kennel and doesn't eat it. Every now and then for a few days he will vomit up a yellowish or white liquid, never food. I am not sure that this is food related because I have not changed his food and he does go for periods where he doesn't vomit at all. Can anyone help or have any suggestions?

I also have another problem with not only him but the other two dogs in my home. We can not keep them out of the cat litter box. We catch them in it all the time. They also will find piles where the outside cats have used and eat it.

Thanks for any suggestions you can give......

I wormed him a month ago because one pup we gave away got sick and the vet said he had round worms from eating their own feces. So I wormed him again today because he was lloking skinnier. He wags his tail, but does not eat or drink. I have been giving him 5 cc of pedialyte every hour and his nose is wet and moist, his ears are not warm and his last bowl movement was not bloody, but I saw white long things in his poop. The other two pups are fine. They have appetites and are drinking. I feed them this diamond puppy food from the feed store which is very healthy for them.

I have this new dog, and I got it from a friend's friend so I don't know wha breed it is. I think its a german sheaped X roman rottweiler. I'll give you the description: Coat: Carmel brown with a hint of white and dark brown dashers. Size:around 67cm wide at three months old. 43 cm tall. Personalitly: Very lickish. Doesn't like to be touched when eating. Features: A medium sized tail, narrowish-head, smallish-sized flop-down ears and has a big chest. Thanks.

This happens repeatedly w/me. If I see an abandoned dog, I take it in and feed it and eventually give them to someone in my family if no one claims them from the flyers I put up.

This dog looks like the one I rescued 5-6 months ago. Maybe a pure bred Rat Terrier and my roommate said he saw him the day before I brought him inside.

This is the 4th time I've sheltered an animal, but this time he's only about 1 y/o and 10 lbs. I can't just put him back outside can I? I can't take him to the shelter bc they will kill him.

What to do?

We're buying a farm and are interested in buying a couple of horses. We would likely be using them for driving, draught, and riding. I have a fondness for the big stocky draft horses. The Hummer of the horse world. Percherons are very elegant but look very sturdy. I saw one at auction once, a big 17hh grey Perch gelding, and he sold for only $400! He was such a beauty. The lady who bought him said a few months later that he's a big baby. :( *pout*

So generally speaking, what are some of the characteristics of Percherons? What about compared to other types of draft horses? My other dream horse is the Friesian, but they don't seem practical for our purposes. They seem too...frilly. But they sure can turn heads.

So. Any suggestions? We're inexperienced owners/riders and we have two kids. We just don't want to get in over our heads with the wrong horse.

My goldfish currly's eyes recently began to get this pushed out look, they are still flat but it looks like his eyes are bigger and extended farther out, not flat with his body. the day before this happened our air pump began to pump more air into the tank than normal. He is eating well, and behaving normal, but this funny look to his eyes have me worried. He is the only fish in the tank, and I have had him almost 2 months. We had to deal with ick the first few weeks, and I treated with salt, then 2 or 3 weeks ago I noticed a few white spots so i changed 1/2 the water and retreated with the Aqarium salt again, his body looks fine, its just his eyes look odd. Any tips or any thing would be helpful, i just hope he dosnt have anything.

Since I have lost my pup to parvo Monday I've been doing lots of surfing about parvo. I've read mixed articles about it. So, askin' for others advice as I know there are lots of people that have gone through this.
I have read articles that say that there is no chronic carrier of this disease. Pups can not be born w/ it.
My guy was a year old 65 pounds and was not dehydrated not did he have fever or dirreaha when I got him into the vet.He was weak and was throwing up his water that he'd drink but was not eatting. Vet almost guarenteed me he'd make it. Took him on Saturday around 4:30 pm and he passed at 11:00 am Monday morning. Said he had to be born w/ it and his immune system just wasn't strong enough to fight it off. Some thing I've read say they can be and others say they can't. Also, some articles I've read say it only lives in ur home for about a month others say longer. As far as outside I've read any where from 5 months to over a year. Is thee anybody that can tell me from
