We have a 3 months old baby and are very concerned about hygiene. Are there any technical devices around, like sound emitters etc you can atttach to your cat's neck?

Short of banning the cat from leaving (or entering) the house, there really isn't much that can be done. Is your kitty allowed to come and go as he/she pleases? If not, maybe you could 'screen' for unwanted guests before Kitty comes into the house. Other than that, I'd definitely attack the spots Kitty leaves presents with Lysol or a mild bleach solution.

There really isn't any way. Your cat is operating under instincts that are hard wired in his pointy little head. The only thing you can do is make him an indoor cat for good.
The mice aren't that good for him either. How long has it been since he's seen the vet? One of those mice could have given him worms. If he goes out he may pick up a case of fleas which will be good for no one in the house.
Think about making him an indoor cat.

A bell usually help when trying to get a cat scare off birds. I dont know if it will work with mice.

You do know that your cat is bringing the mice to you her owner to show you she loves you. It is a present. A GROSS present but the only one she knows.

It should stop. Mine did it for awhile but does not do it any more. I am not sure if it was because she saw me take them back out side or what.

A vet might be able to give you better advice.

Good luck.

I sympathise. Our cat regularly brings a bird into the house. It ts asign that they are hungry. We have remonstrated with her and she seems to know that she has done something wrong.Just feed her more so she is not hungry. Make sure syou put her outside with it. She may get the message. Other than that seek the advice of an expert for the sake of the health of your baby.

The reason he's doing that is because that's his way of "paying rent" or contributing as a hunter to the household. It's a sign of great respect when a cat does that.

Wow...that's really sweet.......this is a way your cat is telling you how much he/she cares.......my cat used to leave dead birds on the front stoop............you need to figure out a way to get rid of the mice around your home.........if your cat hasn't been doing it before maybe because of the baby....he wants to say "Thank you!"

Your cat is proud of the job of killing mice for you. It probably wants praise for what it has done.
