I think cats are easy, although cleaning the litterboxes and around the litterboxes can get aggravating.

Giant African Land Snails are by far the easiest pets. You feed them the left over veg. And clean out the mud they live on once a week!

I've had fish, cats, dogs, ferrets, iguana's, snakes, spiders, and birds. Out of all of them the spider was the absolute easiest to care for. They don't require a lot of attention. Just throw some crickets in there every couple of days and they're good to go. They aren't a very fun pet tho. All pets require some work. Even fish need their water checked, their tank cleaned, food, water replacements.. etc etc. Birds need their cage cleaned every couple days, water changed daily. Dogs are probably the most difficult because they need to be walked, played with, fed, watered, bathed, cleaned up after.. etc etc. Really when it comes down to it cats are the best choice if you're looking for a pet that can bring you some pleasure and doesn't demand alot of attention.

Pet rocks. lol Anything living is going to require attention and time. Fish need their tanks clean, water kmonitored, fish need checked for bacteria and they still need fed. Cats are very low maintanence but you still have to clean litterboxes and feed them as well. Of course I have fish, cats, and a dog so I'm busy alot.

The easiest pet to care for would be a pet rock. However, having a pet rock is not very rewarding. All living pets require a certain amount of care and attention. Fish in a well-filtered aquarium require minimum care. Any pet you tend to and clean up after can be a hassle, but it is usually well worth the effort.

Rodents or cats. Guinea pigs are great, very social and tame, the same with hamster except hamsters take more time in taming. The more time you spend and handle a hamster, the more active they become. No need to bathe most, they can bathe themselves or you can give them dust bathes.

Cats are great pets, independent and social, once they earn your trust and respect they can be as playful and loving as a dog.

Dogs are wonderful and require lots of attention, affection and do need to be walked, but worth every minute.

Fish are fun, but not as easy depending on which fish, tank size, amount of fish. You need to constantly monitor the water quality, temperature, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy going and relaxing.

A recently new domesticated pet and rare, hedgehog, they are even easier and cleaner than hamsters. Like all animals they need time to trust you, but great pets, just make sure they are legal to own in your city/state.

Basically you need to figure out what you're looking for, how much time you're willing to spend with your pet and how much the cost of care, remember, it's a life time commitment. Cats and dogs need constant shots, check ups and neutering. Best luck.

Yes, cats are fairly low maintenance, at least more than dogs. However, if you get a kitten, they need to be trained, which can take a VERY LONG time. You might also consider a betta, a goldfish, a hamster, a mouse, or a rat.

I have a cat, and i have had a fish and a dog as well, and so far the cat has been the easiest, yes the litter box is irritating but they do what they have to do without you having to do it for them..and they are so comforting as well

Among mammals, I think a cat is the easiest.
A betta is pretty easy. You don't need a pump and aerator or heater. It can stay in a small container, etc.

I have a smallish pig that stays in the barn. It belongs to my neighbor, but I take care of her. She's pretty easy, but she gets into the horses' hay and messes it up and poops in it. Other than her mischief, she's easy.
