I recently had a kitten, female, runt of the litter 7 weeks old. My other cat female, 3 years old also the runt of the litter doesn't seem to be getting on with her. Its only been two weeks so maybe I am expecting too much???
They will sniff each other but then the little one gets a little boisterous and makes my elder cat hiss and spit - what can I do to make sure they have the best possible homelife together.

Another thing as well... my eldest cat has become lots more affectionate and does stay outside anymore than usual so its not as if she's scared of the kitten - maybe they just need more time to adjust???

Our cat Bitty, who is almost a year old, has alway been on the skinny side, bony actually. I thought he had worms so we gave him "Liquid Wormer" for roundworms. We gave it to him last Thursday. Yesterday and today he has absolutely no energy. He has just laid around all night and day. He hasn't been eating like normal or drinking that I've noticed. Could he be having a reaction to the wormer and is it serious? He is doing a little better today but he still doesn't run like normal. That is how I noticed the problem. Normally he is jumping off the walls, and running around like a nut. Yesterday and today he has just laid around. That is not like him. Should I take him to the vet?

My 4yr.old Amer.bulldog just delivered a litter of 8 pups on 10/14/06 and the pups have been dropping like flies! we are down to 3 pups as of today. I keep the room nice, clean and warm but their body temp. started to drop very quickly one by one. The 3 survivers seem to be doing well,
I just wondered what could have happened? This is my dogs 2nd litter, the first litter was born 3/17/06 she had 7 pups and 6 survived. Was it to soon to mate again? Please Help!

I bought a six year old morgan mare two weeks ago that has been ridden very little. She rides with a hackamore but I really dislike it and she refuses sharp turns or stopping quickly. I tried a basic snaffle bit and a highport (for my Peruvian Paso) on her, and for the first 15 minutes she was perfect. After she had her fill on the bit, she wouldn't walk straight and got extremely cranky and tried to buck. I'm an expierienced rider and don't mind a cranky horse - but is there any one who has trained a horse who will not accept the bit at all? Any suggestions on how to make her walk straight and/or calm her down under the bit? She has had her teeth floated (which I found useless in a young horse) and has no dental or mouth problems.

My dog was sprinting around in the woods, and when she came back limping I looked at her paw. It looks like the tendon holding her toe to the rest of the paw has been mostly sliced through. Now that toe sticks out more than the rest, and the claw on that one points out and a little upward, while the rest of the claws point downward toward the ground. It's been about a week - at first I thought it was just a cut. She licks it all the time. Will this be a permanent injury? Is there anything I can do? She seems to be taking good care of it herself - should I take her in? From what I've heard about tendon injuries in people it seems like there's usually not much one can do. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks.

A few days ago i bought a fire belly newt. He didnt want to eat since he was still getting used to his new habitat. Finally he ate for the first time today, but i will leave tomorow and will not return until Monday, so i will be gone for about 4 days. This week, I will leave some of the frozen blood worms in the water for him to eat whenever he gets hungry. Is this ok ? I dont want to do this since this gets the water dirty faster, but its the only thing i can think of. Ive tried putting newt pellets for him but he doesnt eat them and they end of sinking to the bottom. I dont want to buy crickets and leave them in there because he is to small to eat crickets and the cricket would probably drown since there is mostly water. What else can i leave in the water for him to eat when i am gone since i am usually gone every week ? Also how can i tell if its a male or female ? his tail is semi pointy.
