You will need more than a cage for chickens.
You will need a coop for them to live in overnight and nest boxes for them to lay eggs in and a pen for them to be outside in and scrach around in.
It does noth have to be a huge area but a standard size dog kennel would work with a house in it.
Like 6x6x6 or a little larger.
If you are not sure of the breed many chicks that are yellow are white when they get older but some are not.
If they are meat birds they will grow very fast and die in about 10 weeks. meat birds are killed for meat at 6-8 weeks past that they have heart attacks and die.
If they are egg layers you will have several good years of egg production.

What breed of chicken? you maybe broken hearted if they are the breed used for eating. Those are bred to grow fast and big. They get totally unable to move around and they really suffer. If you got a breed say of white silkys you will love them. Regular barnyard chickens are fine. There are so many breeds that are white

What color are they now? If they are the yellow chicks, they will be white. If not, it will all depend on what color they are.

you will need at least a 3' x 2' x 6'. If you have a yard , build a small pen around a small "hen house", with a small yard. it needs to be very high, but they need room to roam, and scratch.
