Yes apples are fine. As for the person who doesn't let their bird eat seed...do you let your bird breath? There are toxins in the air too.

I have a quaker parrot, and it is fine and healthy to give him some apple. Make sure if he dosent eat it all, that you remove it from his cage after a few hours so that it dosent spoil, as with all fresh fruits and veggies. Try cheerios too, theyre great training aids for quakers!

There are a lot of good websites with what to feed (and not to feed) your bird. I look up a lot of stuff for my cockateil. Just type in the type of bird and what you want to know-like 'parrot diet'-lots of good advice from people who actually know what they are talking about.

Anything but avocado, chocolate, tomato or raw potato. They eat about anything, oh not too much caffiene.
