Yes Schnauzers can become aggressive! Most small dogs are. you might want to consider some training class's with the dog. this sounds pretty behavioral. I am guessing you don't have any kids of your own and more then likely your dog is getting jealous of your niece and nephew because they are taking a lot of your attention when they are over. good luck and talk to some dog trainers!

No, not all schnauzers are mean. However, many schnauzers are not tolerant of children.

Get help from a trainer or behaviorist to deal with his aggression. Just because he doesn't like children does not mean he should bite them - there are other actions he can take.

I worked as a vet tech for several years and I noticed that most of the schnauzers we had come in were mean or at least snappy. I wouldn't own one!

i would consult your vet and ask him about behavioral problems.

just keep him away from children... many mini schnauzers are nippy and moody although the standard schnauzers are usually very gentle... it sounds like yours is just protective of you because he's afraid of losing you and is doing it out of love... just when you have company leave him in another room where he cant "protect" you
