I don't know them, but it sounds like they don't want you to forget your studies now that you are spending your extra time taking care of your new horse. I'm sure your parents are proud of how responsible you are with the horse, but my guess is that they don't want you to neglect your schoolwork at the same time.
Show them you can balance both situations.

Well are your grades falling? If you are having problems with your grades then I think that you really should start studying a little more! Those are way more important to you right now then the horse. I know that's not what you want to hear. But it is the truth your parents just want the best for you believe it or not. So my solution to this problem is when you are feeding and spending time with the horse you need to do some studying. Try to get as much home work done at school as possible like during lunch study and right after you get home study. It means that you may not have a lot of time for your friends right now! but that was the choice you made by having a horse. first off you need to make your parents Happy. Happy parents makes you a lot happier. and then focus on the horse! So it sounds like you have a pretty big choice here! Good luck I hope you can get your grades back up so you can keep the horse!

My grades started to slip after I got my horse. I was on the honor roll before then. We made a deal. Talk to your parents and work out an agreement. If needed, sign a contract. What kind of student were you before this? I managed to keep my good grades because I didn't want to lose my horse, but the big thing for my parents was that they always knew where I was and what I was doing. I was too busy with my horse. Write down all of the pros and be prepared to show your parents that having your horse makes you a better more responsible person. You have my support! Good luck!

Wow, that's sad. A know how important a horse can be in a young ladies life. You are doing everything yourself to make this horse YOURS. This has nothing to do with your parents or expenses of your parents.
I think that it is great your parents are concerned with your grades. Maybe you should work a little harder in your studies and show them you are making an effort to do well in school. Working and caring for a horse while going to school is very hard. Something is bound to be sacrificed, like your grades. Your just going to have to work harder at school. If you find yourself watching t.v. or playing with friends, stop and think about what you have to get done in your studies.
Put your schooling first. Look at it this way, if your parents do take your horse, but you are making good grades, you can go to a good university, get a good education and find a high paying career that will enable you to buy all the horses you want.
I would approach my parents and be really mature about it. Say to them that you really want good grades this year and that you need their support, not threats. Think of ways they can help you balance all your activities and ask them to help.
Good Luck and Take Care

As a parent I do understand your parents. Grades come first. My son worked full time as a senior (He had a child) and still made the honor roll and his (girlfriend then wife now) made the top ten. Put your mind to work hard now spend less time with the horse after taking care of her needs. You only go to school for so many years and You can have a horse or two for the rest of your life, if that is what you want.

Hello- Have you been a honor student before the horse? If so, then spend more time with the books and show Mom&Dad that you can do both. Remember you will need a good career to look after your horse farm when you are on your own. Lots of cash will be needed!
Take Care and good luck in school!!

They're using the only thing they can to manipulate you. You should probably try to make the honor roll then put them in a crappy nursing home when they're old as a form of passive-aggressive punishment.

Calmy explain to them that you strive to achieve good grades regardless of weather you own a horse or not. Let them know how you feel, Parents shouldn't blackmail ther own children over a a privledge they have already recieved :)
