My family has a cat that's about two years old and this week I got a kitten (since my cat died about 6 months ago). THey're both male and both have lived with other cats before. They actually seem to get along pretty well except for one weird thing. Grim, the older cat, will grab Tut (the kitten) by the back of the neck and drag him around.
At first I thought Grim wanted to mate, but its not like that. One he's got Tut in his mouth he'll start across the room with him. Then we thought that he didn't like Tut, but every time the kitten does something Grim knows is wrong (like climb the curtains) or every time he gets in trouble (like falling into the trash can) Grim is there helping him. Grim even yells if he can't find him.
Does anyone know why he'd be trying to drag him around? Does this make sense to anyone else? I've had a lot of cats over the years but I've never seen one act like this.
