We got a female kitten in May and by June she had had 4 kittens. The problem is we get about a week and a half where it is peaceful and quiet and then out of the clear blue sky she starts this awful howling. I can't believe she spends 3 weeks out of the month in heat. Spaying is an option however we live in a rural area and small animal vets are booked up.

I took her to the vet and all the tests came out fine. She is not lethargic, seems to have a good appetite, and seems in good spirits. She has been loosing weight as she is getting older. She will poop at least three times and not go to the many litter boxes we now have all over the house. When she throws up there is a lot of velocity behind it. We get her this supposedly natural and high quality food. Should I take her off the dry food and cook rice and chicken for her?

Why can't my husband smell the cat scent in our house? Having done a quick survey, it appears that the women of the family can pick it up, but the men are oblivious. Is there anything in it? Or are they just adding fuel to the 'insensitive' fire?!

I have had a husky/shepard mix. Her name is Nikka. She i very high strung, but she is only about 12 weeks old. Today I picked up my other puppy, a 6 week old saint bernard. Her name is maggy. and is about 30 lbs. she is alot smaller than Nikka right now cuz she is little. Well i thought i would introduce them to each other. needless to say, All nikka wanted to do is play, All maggy wanted to do is sleep. Maggy started growling and got a hold of nikkas nose and made her a rudolph. I want to help maggy grow out of this. and i realize i have to start when she is young still. can some one please give me good advice?

My family has a cat that's about two years old and this week I got a kitten (since my cat died about 6 months ago). THey're both male and both have lived with other cats before. They actually seem to get along pretty well except for one weird thing. Grim, the older cat, will grab Tut (the kitten) by the back of the neck and drag him around.

At first I thought Grim wanted to mate, but its not like that. One he's got Tut in his mouth he'll start across the room with him. Then we thought that he didn't like Tut, but every time the kitten does something Grim knows is wrong (like climb the curtains) or every time he gets in trouble (like falling into the trash can) Grim is there helping him. Grim even yells if he can't find him.

Does anyone know why he'd be trying to drag him around? Does this make sense to anyone else? I've had a lot of cats over the years but I've never seen one act like this.
