Our neighbor has a year old male lab pup that is light hearted and full of energy. He has come over to play with our dogs every day since they brought him home. His light hearted nature gets him into a little trouble from time to time so he has acquired the name "Nightmare" mainly for the tail that clears lawn furniture and the way he flops in your lap when he comes over to visit. You can't help but love this dog for his amazingly happy attitude towards everything and everyone he sees. But after he leaves there is always a bit of pick up and fix up to be done, hence the name Nightmare. :)

I would say yes, if the dog is very mellow and sad. Reason being that you should name your pets after thier personality.

Just like she said, its your dog. But not blue in my opinion, rather like bluey or something like that. Would you like to have your name be blue? i wouldn't. But, it's your choice.
