I have a black cat, and named him Louie, because that name is royalty and he has a bent tale which refers to egyptian cats used as ring bearers. Look up foreign country names. One of the most awesome tales of black magic and cats lead in germany, take a gander at that. But remember...cats don't use name ;)

What about Jet???.
Jet is the colour black and is a crystal. This type of cystals metaphysical power is that it draws negative energys out and alleviates unreasonable fears. It is a stone of protection. It was used in olden times to protect from "entities of darkness".
So I personally think that this is a good name for your cat.
