We got a female kitten in May and by June she had had 4 kittens. The problem is we get about a week and a half where it is peaceful and quiet and then out of the clear blue sky she starts this awful howling. I can't believe she spends 3 weeks out of the month in heat. Spaying is an option however we live in a rural area and small animal vets are booked up.

booked up for how long? Make an appointment and get your cat in as soon as you can before you have many litters.

There isn't anything you can do to make her stop but to get her fixed,I don't know if you have a local humane society, but they sometimes will spay them for a small fee.If you can't take her hollering you might want to get a small cage to put her in and put her out side, just lock it if possible.

She's in heat...make an appointment now so it can be done asap..maybe in the meantime you'll luck out and the vet will have a cancellation!

Spaying is definitely the answer. Just call the vet and get on the waiting list. You and your kitty will both be happier... and your kitty will live longer, too. :-)

Please get her fixed...way too many kittens out there...make the appointment for as soon as you can, because the howling wont stop until you do.
