My daughter recently found a small(3" long approximately) frog on our back porch. When she found it the color was a light beige like the chair it was sitting on. After we caught it it turned a light green-brown color. I let her keep it overnight to show her kindergarden class. We put a grub worm, 2 small crickets, and a roly poly insect in the bug box for food and a wet sponge for moisture. The only things it ate were the crickets so we put it back out under the porch after school because of our inability to catch more crickets. I have tried googling to find the type it is but to no avail. The skin was pretty smooth with a camouflage type pattern, but it isn't a leopard frog, I checked. The back legs had an orangeish cast to them but it didn't resemble the type of frog with that feature either.

Aquarium sand question?

I'm planning on using sand in my freshwater aquarium, I have some Kaleidoscope Colored Play Sand from Texas Agri Products, I asked the company, but they haven't replied. Is it okay to use this sand with a lot of rinsing? Has anyone used it?

What if someone you love was being cruel to animals what should you do?

Someone I know and love has two dogs and he doesn't take care of them properly what should I do too discretely get the dogs away from him. He refuses to send them to a good home with people who would take care of them better.

does my cat have a bladder infection?

my cat is a calico,at least 15-17 yrs old.she has been doing great but all of a sudden she is discharging blood mixed with urine from her private.she has done this before but it only lasted a day and i took her to the vet and was given an antibiotic and she was fine,i dont have the money to do that again,is there anything i can do to make her comfortable?she is not purring(she usually does all the time and is happy except now)she looks miserable,what can i do?if you have helpful advice i would certainly appreciate it,thank you.

my gourami has been hurt and now lies in the bottom of tank?

he moves now and then when i disturb him he still has colour has ate very little he dont look ill ..he had got stuck so fast in an ornamental boat in main tank i had to take boat out while he was still stuck and tug him out if i put him back in large tank do you think he will be ok this happened three days ago i am new to tropical fish

Can I use normal rock i can find out in the woods to use in my fish tank or does it need to be specific?

I want to add a large amount of rock to my cichlid tank but have noticed how expensive it is down the LFS. can i use normal rock to decorate my tank or will it alter the water stability too much?

What should I look for in a vet? (ones that believe in more natural practices and do rodents)?

My dogs are kibble fed (Nature's recipie but I will soon probably switch to Natural Balance or Life's Abundance...rents wont let me feed raw)

I'm looking for a vet in Sacramento, CA that won't push the vaccination thing or try and influence me to change food. One that will also take chinchillas.

I keep losing fish and i want to start new and clean the tank all out is that safe?

I just spent a lot of money on medication for my cats ????

It goes in their food and it turns out that neither one of them will eat it. What do you suggest I do to get them to eat this medication that they need. I put it in a can of tuna which they both love, but oh no, there it sits not eaten. HELP PLEASE

Why is this....?

I have had a betta for a few weeks. He used to be in a tank right next to another male betta. I got another betta yesterday. When I put that betta's tank right next to my older betta's tank the older one would flp out and flare. I didn't think he would do this, because he used to live next to another male. I put the new one next to the old one today, and NOW he won't flare! Why is this? So he liked being with other bettas, then he didn't, then he did! I don't get it!

Do pet stores take adult fish?

I have an aquarium that is apparently overcrowded (five 1 1/2 - 2" gold barbs in a six gallon tank), and one fish who is always left out. I don't want it to continue to suffer - will the pet store take it back now that it's all grown up?
