I would call the Humane Society and let them handle it. I don't care for people that won't take care of their animals. The animals are depending on their oweners to care for them. If humans can not take care of things that are smaller than them they don't need them. I treat my animals like they are my children and they love it. Turn that monster in and don't worry about it. Call the aspca. ANimal control is a kill shleter and they might not be adopted and be put to sleep.
If theres anyway that they could 'escape' i might stage an escape when hes not around and deliver them myself.
On another note, you should examine why he does this. Is it negelct or abuse? Is he young? Are you thinking of a future with him? Do you want children with him?
I would also be concerned that he rather let something rot away then let go of it. What if you to ever break up?
Will he let you go or try to keep you and make you miserable?
be careful!
good luck

Tell him he has one week to either start taking care of them properly or you will report him to anyone that will listen. I understand about being sneaky and they are his dogs and all that crap, but who's to say he won't get more later and do the same thing. He needs to know in no uncertain terms that abuse and neglect will not be tolerated, EVER. And he needs to know that he is being watched very closely.
What was his address again?

Continue to try to sway him to find his pets a home or start to care for them. They are legally his dogs, so you don't want to overstep your bounds, but you can talk to your local humane society for tips on better care, or what actually constitutes neglect. Really think about turning the dogs in to the humane society because that could have some really bad consequenses for the relationship between you and your man. Worse case senarior, show him how to care for them. I wish you luck because this is a really sticky situation.

I would get them a better home. He could get arrested that is not fair for the dogs because they don't get to choose who their owner is. Don't tell him about it because he might not let you but that shouldn't stop you. You could even call animal cops if he takes them back or you give in. But i would definetly save the dogs!

i would certainly call the aspca ASAP, be anonomous, put your self in the place of the dogs, imagine not being able to tell someone you are being not taken care of properly. surly you can understand that they are suffering, i feel it is the duty of everyone to protect animals since they are at the mercy of people that sometimes do not understand they are hurting rather than helping them.

go to your local shelter and talk to them, be honest and explain the situation.
there is no excuse for this behavior. I do not understand people like this. Are you sure this person is you friend, they sound very unhappy to me or very lazy.
if you care about these animals at all, please step up to the plate, they can not talk for themselves and did not ask to be put into this situation.
Be strong and do what is right. You will be very proud of yourself.
Good Luck
\Please post what you decided to do and what you did.

If he is your boyfriend, get rid of him fast, If he abuses animals, he may abuse you too. Don't wait for that to happen. You can also make an anonymous call to the animal control in your area and they will probably check it out.

Call the humane society. If he is cruel to the dogs it will not be long before he is cruel to you.
