Our hamster sounds like it is purring when we take it out and hold it and cuddle it?

no, they dont, and if he does you should take him to the vet imediatly!! It means he is congested.He has a sinus infection and could die from it!! please help the poor little thing!

No they dont, I have a dwarf hamster that when being held will make a noise. I thinks its grinding it teeth or something but not purring.

Well, you can tell if they purr because there stomach will kind of vibarate like a cat purring.
