His appetite normally goes down right before he hibernates. In the past when he got ready to hibernate, he ate every 3-4 days but now he's not eating at all. He walks around okay, doesn't have watery eyes or a runny nose. Should I be worried?

y are pitbulls so discriminated against, ppl thinks they go around looking to tear ppl up.
i have 2 that some1 broke into my home and stole a pit puppy and neither of my pits attacked the unknown intruder.
i don't care what breed u have when a stranger goes near their pups they usually will attack if the stranger takes one but not my pit, that proves to me they wouldn't hurt a fly. now i know that if they have been fought then that is a different case but mine are just big babies

If an animal is having difficulty breathing, can humans perform CPR on them, or only vets? This is NOT a joke! It's a serious question.

I wanna have a Great Dane to be part of my family after I move to my new home(around Oct). I've searched online and I'm goin to the pound this weekend. There are some adorable puppies on puppyfind.com My question is that is it secure to buy a nice puppy on those website such as puppyfind.com ?
(They said they have Registered/registerable (AKC, NKC, etc.), Current vaccinations, Veterinarian examination, Health certificate)
Is that possible that they are faking?
What are the other ways to get a Great Dane puppy?

I heard it was. I sometimes threaten to spray my dog with it when she gets out of control and I want to know if it can hurt her or make her blind or something.

I have a dog that I adopted from a friend. She is four years old and I do not think she had proper training. She barks when she gets excited, like when I tell her it is time for a walk. She barks and barks and barks and jumps around and it is hard for me to put the leash on her. Do you have any good suggestions to help train her to stop barking when it is time for a W-A-L-K?

I read on my local SPCA website that I could shake a can of pennies or squirt her with a water gun to get her to momentarily stop her from barking then say "good dog" give her a treat. I mean, would that really work?

Do you have any specifics that you have used on your dog to help her stay quiet?

He is about 8 months old and was hand raised. At first he was OK with being held - 1 or 2 times when he first came home with me and then he "flew" off my hand (wings are clipped) and rammed into the window. Since then he hisses and bit me really hard when I try to get him out. I know I need to work with him but I'm really freaked about getting bit again. It hurt! I've tried using a towel to get him and now he hates me even more. Any suggestions?

What is the best technique to feeding my small african dwarf frog. It is a small 2.5 gallon minibow, where i have a betta and 3 small platies. They seem to get the live worms before my froggy does. What is the best method to feed my froggy with, and how should I feed him? Also, can I handle him, as in take him out of the water, and hold him in my hand? Help please!!!

I know my dog understands when I'm sad because if I cry, she comes over to me and puts her head in my lap, licks me and things of the sort. Do you think she understands that when I kiss her head or hug her I'm showing affection or do you think she just tolerates it?

In addition- anybody else have an exceptionally tight bond with their dog?

This little kitten was on the street, just the saddest, flea-ridden excuse for an animal. His eyes were all gooed over, skin & bones, thin, filthy fur. I took him in that night, made him drink some water, and took him to the vet the next morning. They treated the fleas and gave him antibiotics for the eye-goo and head cold (?!), and he eats & uses the litterbox just fine (not so good at not stepping in it yet... eww).
I'm not a cat person. My mother was allergic to cats, so we always had dogs in our family. I've kept rodents since I was eight, and I've even got a family of baby scorpions, now. Animals I'm fine with, just I've never had a cat.
Do the bowels need to be stimulated, as with young rodents, or because he uses the litterbox, he'll be fine?
How much kitten food should he eat? He's getting round in the belly. The vet said to feed him canned kitten food, but someone suggested that I should mix in formula.

I've been reading up on kitten care, but I don't know what I'm doing.

I have a dog that is ACA registered; she was given to me b/c her owner just couldn't take care of her. I wanted to breed her maybe in the future. I've been doing lots of research on her breed, but I don't really know if she is really purebreed b/c 1. She's not AKC registered 2. She's small for her breed 3. I don't really know much about the breeder who bred her. Are there any dog genetic testing labs that I can find out if she is purebreed and free of genetic defects? or can a local vet do those test and/or send them off? I will most definitly make sure she is breedable and a good candidate to be bred, after all I want healthy puppies and a healthy breed of dog. I just need to know if she is genetically fit to be bred. thanx

We recently moved to a farm and took along three small dogs and a mama cat and her 3 kittens. My daughter ran in very upset and had found that one of the kittens had been killed. It was a very hard thing to see and it was badly mangled. I have a hard time thinking that a coyote came right up on the porch and only took the one kitten. Any ideas on what else might have done this??

I have a one gallon fish tank. I have had it for quite sometime and have had other fish live in it for up to 2 months. But for some reason now every fish I buy dies. I feed them properly and make sure to slowly introduce them to the water. What could I be doing wrong that they would die after a few days!?

It drives me nuts! He'll just make this licking or slurping noises for no reason (that I can tell) and the noise is so annoying. Why is he doing this? How can I get him to stop? I've tried scolding him, but he keeps on doing it. He doesn't do it constantly, but enough to bug the heck out of me! PS- He's a lab-mix and about 2 years old.

Diablo is about 4 years old, but I've never had him(?) sexed. He's too old to be "probed", but is there any way to look at the slit near the anal spurs to determine whether he's a male or female? Thanks.

I thought the decorator crab was a perfect addtition to my 70 gallon reef tank and when the store said it would not harm any thing else I took it. It disapeard very quick and started covering himself and I could not find him until I added a coral banded shrimp and as soon as it went in a rocky arm snathed it from the life rock and devoued him untill nothing was left but a leg. Now I am finding missing fish and I cant get him out because I cant find him at all except at night but he is pretty fast. Going to have to clear out everything to take him out before he destroyes alot of money. Anyone else have a decorator crab and have had problems?
