I live in Southwestern Connecticut and have been 'shopping' for an English Bulldog for the past several months. I know they are rather expensive due to multiple reasons, but it seems that when I finally find a reputable breeder the prices are close to or over 3,000. I have seen them advertised on line and in the paper for as little as 1,400. My question is how can I find a list of reputable breeders in my area so that I can compare prices and reputations ?

Of all the cats I've ever owned as pets, they have always rubbed themselves on my legs as they were passing by. My two current cats have never done this. Why do cats do this in the first place? And why don't mine do it?

I was feeding a wild one yesterday in the park. It was less than a year old..and was very friendly. It walked right up to me as I was feeing squirrels and raccoons. It didn't smell at all, and was DAMN cute. It muched away at the cookes I was dropping on the ground.

I woudn't want to have one go through surgery to remove its scent glands, though it would have to be done to live in a house. I wonder how easy it would be to raise one domestically?

I've tried calling animal control and they will not get these cats because they are living underneath my town house. There are about 19 adult cats and kittens, They leave poop everywhere and they tear up everyones garbage... And for the last 2 months we've had a major flea problem inside *we have no pets*... My daughter is severly allergic to fleas...We had pest control come and spray 4 times but because these cats live under our house the fleas are never fully killed...I need a quick and harmless method to get these cats out of my yard and away from my home... The landlord can't do anything about them because of our local animal abuse laws... And He doesn't know what to do... So please help us... Thank you so much....

I have a 6 month old lab mix that chews on our wood furniture and just doesn't seem to stop no matter how many toys I give her. I really want to get her a companion to play with while I'm at work, and hopefully that will stop her from chewing everything to pieces since she will have a buddy. Can anyone recommend a breed that isn't notorious for chewing everything in sight? Thank you :)

I used to own a tank full of Tropical Fish, one in particular was a Female Fighter, everytime I checked on them, she was never to be found, so I'd open the tank lid and there she was laying on top of the Filtre, out of the water! So I'd flick her back in, and then a few minutes later she'd be there again, so I used to watch her and she seemed fine, why did she do this? did she have a brain? maybe she was a human in a previous life?

I had the great pleasure of reading Buba Gump's question before it was removed (and rightly so) by customer care.

He wanted to know why "cat people" are such "militant freaks". I don't consider myself a "cat person". I consider myself an animal person. He said cats aren't people. Of course they're not. But they ARE living things. They feel emotions (not to the extent that we do, but they do), they feel pain, they bring joy. So do dogs. ALL living things should be treated with care and respect. Those people who say "it's just a cat" or "it's just a dog" are ignorant. I hope that one day, aliens take over this planet....and we hear them say "it's just a human". Get the picture?
