Cowrie (Family: Cypraeidae) (Pictured Left): Most of these are herbivores that will eat dried seaweed (Nori) with a few species being carnivorous. They are found throughout the tropics and as such adapt well to the water temperatures in an aquarium. They can grow to fairly large and have the ability to knock things over in a tank. Make sure you rockwork is securely fastened in place before attempting to bring one home. If acclimatized properly and fed enough algae they can live for years.
