You can do searches for any breed in any area. These are all rescue dogs.
I have never heard of a calahoua kur?
Black mouth cur (old yeller) or a catahoula. I like the Louisiana catahoula. Big strong dogs.

Personally I like the Humane Society. You get a dog that has been in foster care. So they know all the quirks. Does the dog like kids, cats, potty trained.... You sign a contract that if for some reason the dog does not work out or you for some reason or forced to find a new home. That you have to give the dog back to them. You can go to pet finder .com to find the breed you are looking for.

To find a reputable Catahoula Leopard Dog breeder, try http://www.rarebreed.com/breeders/spottyacre/spottyacre.html.
http://www.catahoulas.org/catahoula.htm
http://www.catahoulaleopard.com/homepg.htm
They are currently only available for registry in AKC's FSS (foundation stock service) program. I would try to find a breeder that is a part of that program since those dogs will eventually gain status in the American Kennel Club at a future date. Also if you are just looking for a pet you could also try http://search.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi?action=1&pet.Animal=Dog&pet.Breed=Catahoula+Leopard+Dog&pet.Age=&pet.Size=&pet.Sex=&location=43528&preview=1&scope=0&x=0&y=0. Petfinder offers a list of dogs/puppies currently in the shelter systems across the country. It is a great way to help save a life in addition to finding the purebred dog you want. If you want to search in your area...www.petfinder.com and type in your criteria.
As always make sure that you buy your puppy from a reputable and ethical breeder. Stay away from puppy shops and online 'buy a puppy here' type of websites.

If your looking for a specific breed such as you have listed, you probably should start with the internet. Just go to google or any one search engine of your choice, click on images and type in the breed you are looking for. Usually you can find places that breed them close to you, or fairly close, or look to your local animal shelter's, they alway's have dog's waiting for new homes and a special person to love them! Good luck!

look in the paper for breeders, call the humane society, look online and see if they have a rescue group for that breed. Sometimes you can get a very nice dog that the owner just couldn't keep for one reason or another.
Good luck

pure bred? check out breeders on the net. But the pound is the best place to get a doggie. You can see pics on the net...and the bonus- you're saving a life! Our dog is a lab-corgie mix.....the best dog! Yes she was a pound puppy. :)

I would go to the humane society. There are lots of animals there who need homes. But if you don't want to go there then you can always look up breeders.
