Our family is considering getting a dog that we would keep in our fully fenced back yard with a dog house. We want it to be a watch dog at night, that doesn't bark at every little movement, and a dog that will be a great friend to the kids during the day. Hopefully one that will be easy to train to not crap all over the whole backyard, but to do his duty in a designated spot. :) As far as weather goes, we live in Idaho and so we do experience a few months of winter, as well as some fairly hot days in the summer.

She is 3. We got her from a shelter over a month ago and she drips liquidy little 'clots' of feces all over the house. She seems to use the litter box just fine, and sometimes she farts but this poop thing is unbearable! Neither of our other cats have a problem like this. What can I do and what could be wrong with her?

My kitten is about 9 weeks old. I feed her canned cat food in 5.5 oz cans. It is recommended that cats eat 1 oz/lb of weight and kittens eat 2 oz/lb of weight. I do not have a scale that will weigh her. She can easily eat an entire can in a day and probably more if I gave it to her. What do you recommend?

I use it at a rate of 1 Tablespoon per 30g's for my 90g tank.

I love rabbits and bunnies when every other kid school wanted a dog or a cat I wanted a rabbit but my mom got me a fish instead she said she didnt any animals in her house but when i get out college i am getting one. Thats y i want to learn everything possible about rabbits.

I'm currently using the 'choke chain' collar to train my puppy not to pull and it's been successful to an extent, but i'm not too comfortable with it, and i hate to see it tighten around her neck. which other collars/harnesses can you recommend? any personal experience stories would be great!

We are looking at buying a puppy from some friends who had an oops breeding of their pure-bred American Bull Dogs. Puppies are being bottle fed and have been since day 2. Mom got an infection and was put down when puppies were 9 days old. They are all together but no mom. Anyone who has had litters with & without mom...any advice? We have been over to feed them a few times and are going back at week 3 but have some concerns with them not learning all those little dominance/respect, etc. things that they get from mom before going to new homes at 8 weeks. Just not sure if those things they get from mom are so crutial that they will end up not being the best dogs later. Any assistance would be appreciated.

When we first got our dog he was in a crate inside our house, however I didn't feel good about leaving him in there for 8 hours while we were at work. I would come home for lunch and walk him but he always peed and then I had to clean that up. We have an average sized backyard that has high fences and he seems to do fine out there so far. Our vet, however told us he should be kept inside. What do you think?

While on vacation, I got a phone call from a friend that was sure ich / ick has taken over my tank. There's a thin white coat over everything--from the walls, to the plants, to my scale-less catfish. Is it ick?

Anyway, she cleaned out some of the water + got some of the white off of what she could, and then ran over to the pet store for some meds, which said to raise the heat by a couple degrees to help it work. Unfortunatly, the next day I got another phone call saying that one of my catfish didn't make it, since the medication takes a couple days to take effect.

When I get home later today, what should I do? Should I replace some of the water, all of the water, or just let the medication work? Is there anything I can do to keep it from happening again?

Any other advice you could give me would me most appreciated...

poor thing had diareha last night and soiled his crate. could it have been the awful smell made him rub his nose on the bedding till it bled? I put a dab of neosporin on it to aid healing. The spot is on top were the fur meets the black of his nose. will it always be pink? it is about the size of half a dime. There was a trace of blood on his bedding. what's your opinion? (he is 1/2 yellow lab & 1/2 G. shepard)

I have a 17 year-old neutered male cat who is blind - he lost his sight 8 years ago - we don't know why, but the vet says the problem is not his eyes -it must be his brain or nerve pathways.
A couple of years ago he started pacing obsessively in tight circles for maybe 10 minutes at a time. You can stop him if you distract him with attention or food, but once he gets going, just talking to him won't really stop him, and he'll just start right up again.
In other respects, he's a very normal, smart, healthy older cat. Could the pacing be related to the blindness - or could it be a form of senility? Does anyone else have a cat that does this?
