Well I know that my bird is always like not very active unless I am home and near her. She gets sooo excited when I wake up or get home. I don't think my bird is depressed i just think she likes me and my company. To me it sounds like your dog just likes your company but if you are worried I would at least call a vet and possibly set up an appointment if he/she thinks it is necessary. Good Luck!!

Gina, I know you don't want to hear this, but going to the Vet is important to do since your dog was bitten the way you described. Sometimes you cannot tell how deep the wound is and a pressure bite can do more damage than there appears to be. If you take your dog in a kennel cab or crate of some sort he will be less stressed but a Vet's office is a good place to go. You need documentation about the bite incident and you may want to report it to animal control because no dog should be on the loose without a leash but especially if it is aggressive towards other dogs which any dog can be. The only way this would be your fault is if your dog was off leash and found a way into the other dogs yard and then it was attacked. Meanwhile, your dog and other dogs need to be protected. Has the owner of the dog offered to pay for you to see a Vet? He should.

i agree with most of the previous answers, she's lonely or bored. Maybe get her a companion, make sure she has lots and lots of things to do during the day. They make this ball that you put treats into and you record your voice on it. Every time the dog moves the ball to get a treat, your message plays for her. Can't remember what it's calle but my dogs love that thing.
You might also consider putting her in doggy daycare. That way she won't be alone, and you don't have the added expense of another pet.

dogs do not have human emotion. she is not "depressed" just tired and probably bored. take her out, let her run around.

plus, shes older now, and dogs age quickly, she wont be able to do the things she did as a puppy. so cut her some slack.

she is not "sad" she is just old, tired, and bored. as would you be if you just lay around all day in the same room.

give her some air, bring her for a drive, get her a friend.

your dog isn't a pup anymore. She has gotten use to the idea that you leave and welcomes you home. Make sure she sees the vet regularly.Otherwise, plan to take her out on your day off.Show her love, she will triple the amount of love you give her and send it back

She might be just bored. Before you go out, try putting little treats and hiding them in toys or other places around the house, that way, she has something to do.

She's probably bored. Don't get her another dog, this can create HUGE problems. They will bond with each other and not you. Get her a dog walker, some IQ toys that make her think, or take her with you.

Yes your dog is depressed when she was a puppy you probabally spent more time with her and now that she is an adult you probally dont spend eghough time with her so I would recomemnd getting her a play mate..So when you are gone she isnt so lonely...She has someone to spend time with and play with....

Three things: 1: perhaps she is lonely, 2: maybe you need to see a vet about it, 3: buy her a chew toy, bone, yadda, yadda, and that might make her happy. good luck!
