I want to buy a pure bred dog and I'm unsure of what type to get. If you could give me some suggestions of dogs that are easy to train, loveable, easy going, and that are small to medium in size because he/she will be an inside dog.

I have looked all over online for signs of this, but have only found things regarding children or animal cruelty in general, nothing specific to animal molestation.

The other day, my friend told me something seemed "wrong" when she walked into her basement and saw her Father with his beloved dogs sitting on his lap. She said her Father seemed surprised to see her and looked uncomfortable or awkward. She said he had a blanket on his lap for the dogs to sit under and that she should have been ok with that, but for some reason, she had a weird feeling he was allowing the dogs to do something else under the blanket. My friend told me this and cannot explain why she feels this way at all. A few days later, she came to me again and said that one of those dogs had begun scooting her butt along the floor lately and she was worried that perhaps more had taken place. Now I'm worried. I told her she should take them in to the vet for a physical check up. Any obvious exterior signs to look for?

I rescued a boxer pup (well 1 year old) from euthanasia today, and am taking her to a rescue group tomorrow. But right now she is freaking the f*** out! Whining and hollering and yelping. I walked her until I was ready to drop, she is fed and went potty, she has toys and a chew bone....what can I do? Any safe medicine she can have that might be in my cupboard? I'm desperate.

Serious answers only!

She's a 1 year old bull mastiff. Is that spelled right? Anyway she rubs up on you like a cat and purrs and moves her head around like a cat. It's wierd.
If you have seen this before, or know why she does it let me know.

I have an 8 month old pomeranian and I just got out of an abusive relationship so, my living situation is not as nice for her as it used to be. I work and go to school from 8 am to 9 pm. I make an effort to come home about 2 times a day to walk and praise her. I am also getting her trained. while i am gone she is kept in a large crate with her toys, food,k water, and bed. Also anytime I have available i take her on car trips and take her to the pet store to play with toys. She seems happy...SHould I keep her?

I own alot of cats and have a mother cat that recently gave birth to 6 healthy kittens. My question is will after keeping previous litters of her kittens, will she hate me and feel emptiness from loss, if I give her now weined kittens to a no kill shelter? Maybe I shouldn't care but I feel that if I do this, she will change be
different.... This is my worry, I would rather raise and kittens than hurt her......
If any one has givin kittens from mother cats they have owned , Please tell me how she might react to losing her litter........ Thank You if you respond.......

I've actually asked this question a few times before, but I still have lingering doubts on the crate training. My biggest concern has been crating my puppy overnight. Will she be able to hold it through the night? Since we've had her (two weeks), she pees and pooping while we're asleep, but at least she's paper trained and doesn't eat it.

Tonight, I am going to crate her in my room. I don't yet recognize her "cry" for needing to go to the bathroom, I'm afraid I'll just sleep through it. I took her out just now and she peed but not pooped. I'm concerned about the poop, she pooped after dinner, but usually needs to go one more time in the middle of the night.

Can she hold it until morning? Will I have to set my alarm for 3ish to take her out? Thank you for all the help in advance.

When I go to obedience lesson, my dog is extremely hard to control. Whenever she sees a dog she goes nuts, she never listens to me. I tried chokers but they don't work with her she just ignrores me. So I went to pinch collars. she listens to me then, but I worry that she might be to young for this ( she is 5 months old), but there is no other way to control her. Another thing. When I am at home, she does just fine. Since she is just 5 months old should I even be correcting her on obedience ( by obedience I mean correcter her when she does not sit on command, or doesn't turn quickly enough) using a chain or a pinch collar?

I have been wanting a bird for the longest time....and I think I want a budgie, but im not sure if it would be the right choice for me. Here are what my personal lifestyle and criteria for a bird is:

~I live with a 5 year old (but she knows not to hurt to hurt the bird)

~I have a cat (i could keep the bird in a closed room away from the
cat)

~I want a fairly small bird

~I want an inexspensive bird: $300 or less for initial cost (including cage and toys) and less than $30 every month after

~I want a bird that "could" learn to talk (its ok if it doesnt)

~I dont want a bird that can live over 25-30 yrs (I would take care of it if it did live longer than expected, but only want a short-lived bird)

Please help, and could anyone tell me on average how much a budgie would cost including cage, toys, etc.?
