I hope you had gloves on, they are huge carrier's of RABIES, which when symptoms occur it is usually fatal...Be careful, make sure you did not get anything including saliva, blood, or any bodily fluids on you. If you did, go to the emergency room...Be Careful...

Probably too late, but I hope you knew to be extra cautious. Bats are carriers of rabies. A teenager recently died in Houston, TX. of rabies contracted from a bat bite. The bat was in his room.
If you still have the bat, you might want to contact your nearest health department to see if it can be checked for rabies.
