they actually see in black and white. Which is funny because they use red cloths. The cloths are supposed to be very bright and vibrant so that people can see it flashing about and it matches the uniforms. The bulls are attracted to movement, which draws them to the person. Spanish bulls are bred to know no fear and will attack anything that moves. Not all bulls are like that. We have had bulls on our farms for years and they have all been really sweet and gentle. I have never had any problems with my bulls. Most of mine are hand raised, can be haltered and led and are just sweet, loving, fat lazy beings.

Of course. Ever heard of the Angus or Black Angus breed? It's a breed where both cows AND bulls are solid black. Galloway cattle also come in black. Both breeds are a polled breed, which means not just the cows, but the bulls too, do not have horns. Truth be told, only Holsteins are black and white. Cows, and bulls too, can come in black, brown, red, orange, yellow, white, grey and a bluish colouration called blue roan. They can also be strawberry roan, red roan, white-faced of any of the aforementioned colours, patchy, spotty, speckled, striped (commonly called brindle or tiger-striped), and pointed (black ears, nose, eyes, hooves, teats/scrotum). There is also a wild-type gene where animals are often dark-brown with light coloured muzzle, eye rings, belly and inside of the legs.

bull and cows do see in color!! But only certain colors. They see mostly in gray tones however they can detect yellows, oranges and yes..........red. Not that the color red will make a bull charge............. that is not true.
When standing upright they can see about 300 degrees around them. However when grazing they can see almost 360 degrees because their sides do not block any of their view.
Extreme bright lights bother them especially at night.

A bull will charge anything you wave at him. The 'old wives' tale' about the red cape had to do with 'the bull becoming obsessed with the color of blood.'
Bulls and cows (and deer) are color blind. I've deer hunted in bright red insulated coveralls and have taken my deer. Nary a bull bothered me, either. Believe me, they are color blind.

They see in black and white. They charge at the motion of the red cape..not the color.
Matadors use the red cape because it is the same color as the bulls blood and it will hide any blood that gets on the cape so the crowd does not see it.

Bulls charge at color red waved at them especially if contrasted with red's chromatic opposite, green grass pasture. Have you looked at how red and green have vibrating edges as they contradict each other? I've shown the red cloth at bulls while in winter, they simply ignored me. I figured it out myself... your opinions welcome! Waving things or pointing a finger at bulls angers them as well.
