I want to get Gouramis, Loaches, red tail sharks, or angel fish, types like these. I know I don't have a lot of room. What varieties and how many can I fit?

Do NOT put goldfish in there, whatever you do! They grow way too large and are very messy. If they don't grow as large as they should (fancy goldfish-grapefruit size, commons/commets-a foot or more) then they have been painfully stunted by ammonia!

I agree, the majority of the fish you listed definitely won't fit in a 10 gallon. Dwarf gouramis would be ok, that's it. A pair of dwarfs and a few fancy guppies would be nice. It would also be a nice pad for a single male betta.

Well. In my 10 gal. I have 5 white clouds, 4 zebra danios, (top) 1 clown loach, 1 sand loach, 1 dimpictus catfish, (bottom feeders)2 glass catfish (middle) 1 male betta (plays around the rocks)and a few snails. It seems to be okay so far. I've had it set up for about a year now. All the fish were really healthy when I bought them and I have had no "deaths" yet! I think as long as you find fish that like different levels, it isn't crowded for them. All the plants in the tank are live.

I'd like to add a link to a page in a cichlid forum. I know my fish and tank are a lot smaller than the ones in the picture but read what commenter #12 has to say.
www.cichlids.com/nc/tank-pictures/pic/my_tank-37.html I hope the link works. Ok so, it doesn't work but at least I tried! Have fun with your new hobby.

nicely there is not any substitution for a filter out and siphoning your tank yet what you're in search of for will be truly confusing with a ten gallon, I actually have a 30 gallon tank and what i encounter is the suited is a cleanser shrimp , reef lobster , or starfish , they're all very relaxing to have besides the undeniable fact that the reef lobsters may be aggresive on your small tank so in case you want that the suited it may help you slightly besides the undeniable fact that the suited i could ought to say may be the starfish. Ask your nearist fish save proprietor that is acceptable for you because some would reason problem on your small tank

Yur choice of fish need at least 20-30gal tank. For a 10gal >>5 small tetras like neon tetra or rummy-nose tetra, 2 cherry barbs, 2 corys would be a good starting combination.

i would go with all of the tetras. they are fast moving fish and very interesting. if you get 6 of each kind and keep it to about 5 differant type you will have a very interesting tank. dont forget to put some live plants in too. they like to hide and then dart back and forth between the plants.
good luck!!

none of those..they all get way too big

you can get
Tetras (depending on the variety..maybe 5-10 of the neons...)
Guppies (as many as you'd like really..they stay small..i have like 8 in my 10)
Fancy Goldfish (maybe like 2-3),
cory cats (bottom feeders..maybe 2),
Molies or platties (2-3)
Angelfish (smalls...as small as they get..maybe 2.. for a 10..when they get bigger..you need to upgrade)

with a 10 gallon theres not much room....
