Can fleas make a dog sick? What can I put on him to keep the fleas away? He was a stray that my dad brought home over 9 years ago. I am not sure how old he is since he was a stray. He has not ate anything in about 3 days, he has dropped a lot of weight, and he has this nasty stuff coming out of his eyes (yellowish-greenish color). He is also breathing sort-of heavy. He is up and walking around. I bathed him today and he was covered in fleas. Can the fleas cause a dog to get sick? He is an "outside dog". He is dearly loved and I contacted the vet, I would have to use the emergency vet, which is pretty far away from my home. Please help me...what should I do until Monday when I can bring him to the local vet?

Roxy was a yorkie. she was killed by a pack of dogs. she was a very special dog. My grandmother doesnt want to get another dog, because you get so attached to them. I would really love to have another one. I really miss my little angel. please help me out <3

so my rabbit just died and my male pekingnese is attatched to my mom and now i have no one. and i think shes starting to see that. well, i think she might give in to getting me a dachshund puppy! :] i just love this breed and read ALL about them as i possibly can. (im 16) does anyone have any personal experiences with this breed, and can give me some tips on them? When we pick one out, I want a female dapple.

any puppy training tips would be so helpful and just any advice on training, dachshunds and personal experiences would be so helpful! thanks.

Im looking for some large Koi carp for my pond. Ideally, i want them to be from about 9" to about 12" in size. We want blacky/orange ones and silver/grey kinds-we have found some, but dont know what kind of price they usually sell for? Does anyone know or have a rough idea of the prices please? Also, how long do they live for-obviously so long as a nieghbours cat gets them!! If there is no danger (like cats, herons etc!) whats a Koi carps life span please!?

I just bought a beautiful white German Shepard,,he is 12 weeks old,,,and cute as can be. But is there a cool trick to potty training him? I have a fenced yard,,I take him out,,especially right after he wakes,,,he plays and goofs around and then comes in and pees or poops on the floor!! I heard the rubbing they nose in it,,was wrong,,so except for taking him out alot,,,,any ideas?

She is two, and at night she sleeps on my bed. Her eyes roll back in her head and she starts twitching and shaking and won't respond to anything. She yelps sometimes too, and afterwrds she looks dazed. I put a blanket on her too, just to make sure she doesn't go into shock or anything. I know I should call a vet but I can't get a hold of her. Any suggestions? Am I doing the right thing?

I am an American living in a fairly small Chinese city. I recently adopted a kitten and am trying to litter-box train her. So far I have been using a shallow, plastic tub lined with newspaper, and she has been using it without any problems. But it's kind of messy for me and I have to replace the newspaper every time she uses the litter box. Any suggestions on other materials or substances that I could put in the litter box that might be more absorbant? Keep in mind that material availability is fairly limited. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I want a dog for the whole family to enjoy. My brother and I really want a golden retriever. While my mom and dad want a small dog. My chihuahua has been inside all day, and i think he got into some dust. He has been shaking his head constantly, not scratching his ears, but rubbing them on anything soft when he gets the chance. Taking a closer look, it appears they have some sort of rash or allergic reaction, which I can only imagine is from the dusty floor he got into (he was under the couch). What can I do to remedy this? Will it just go away, or do I need to get him to a vet?

About 5 weeks ago, I left my cat in care of my aunt and mother and she ran away. I could tell she was in heat when I left her so I asked for them to keep extra care of her, and obviously they didn't. Tipsy(my cat) has always been a really small cat, and active. She was introduced to outdoors (my fault, I like to tan, and she wouldn't ever leave my side) and I belive thats why she managed to get outside. I've looked all over the internet for clues on seeing if she's pregnant. I noticed at least a week ago, that her nipples were bigger, and when I picked her up, her stomach is round, but up towards the abdamen, not so much her uterus, is that normal? So, I figure she's been sleeping in my room alot more, and I have put a kennel in there just because she is comfertable with it. Any ideas on when she could be poping out little bunndles of fur?
