How have you had her for 3 years if she's only 2?
Maybe she's boring because you haven't taught her anything interesting?

Every dog is an individual. Maybe she's not the "go fetch" type. Our dog isn't into playing too often- no more than once a week, and that only lasts 10 minutes. He does love to go on walks, hang out with us in the yard, meet new dogs and people, and cuddle by the couch, though. We have just accepted that playing isn't a high priority for him, and we've bonded in other ways. It's just his personality, and we figure that since he loves us the way we are, the least we can do is appreciate him for who he is, too.
If she doesn't get outside enough on walks or enough time with the people she lives with, she might be bored. Try taking her out on walks, for rides in the car, whatever she really enjoys. If she doesn't perk up, you should take her to the vet to see if there is a medical problem. Some illnesses, including depression, show up as lethargy in dogs.

Most of the Yorkies are lap dogs. That means they like to lay on your lap and be petted. Not much at playing but will a little. After 3 years I would think you knew that by now. m

Your dog is a lap dog, not a Golden Retriever. Lap dogs are bred to be quiet, cuddly companions. And since she is now 2, the puppy stage is defenitely over. You could try doing other things with her that may foster a bond between you two. Those dogs usually enjoy and need grooming. You could brush her and do her hair (although I realise that seems silly!) She may also enjoy the company of other dogs. That may bring out her playful side. Try a dog park. Count your blessings, at least your dog isn't rambunctious like mine.

She's a lap-dog. She just wants to sit on your lap and look pretty... turn on a show with other dogs and you may get a reaction out of her. Try having a friend bring over another dog, all she may need is a play-mate to wake up the puppy inside of her.

Take her to a park that she is new to, and train her with treats or a toy. my dogs are lazy on hot days and having them do tricks, new or old, sparks them up. also in pet stores i have seen energy bars for dogs. you could try some of those. just do things to gain her intrest and build on it. maybe get another dog to play with her, like a younger or more energetic dog. good luck to you.

Take her to a vet. She could be sick.
Try a book called "Dog Tricks for Dummies" it has step-by-step directions on how to train a dog to do just about anything.
