FERRETS ARE NOT RODENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They come from the order Carnivora, family of mustelidae, so they are related to the badger, the wolverine, the otter, the mink and the weasel.
The only kind of ferret that comes from Western America is the Blackfooted Ferret. The ferret you find in the pet stores came from the European Polecat.

A FERRET is a creature first bred from the wild European polecat or steppe polecat at least 2,500 years ago. Several other small, elongated carnivorous mammals belonging to the family Mustelidae also have the word "ferret" in their common names, including the endangered black-footed ferret.

Contrary to popular belief, ferrets are not rodents, but members of the mustelid family, which also includes weasels, badgers and otters.

I had a ferret. They are really cute. And yes it is the animal is Along Came Polly

You might find more info if you spelled it "Ferret". It's a rodent, and was the little furry thing on "Along came Polly."

A ferret is a member of the rodent family.
It's exactly like in the animal that was in "Along Came Poly" accept hopefully not blind.

It's also what was in the movie "The Big Labowski"
which was mistakenly reefer(d) to as a "marmot"
you can also ferret out more info here:
