it's a bird show. we're going to one 7/15 in VA. i have already contacted a couple of the breeders who are going and they are going to bring a few birds for us to look at- just love birds. the ones at a few of the pet shops are not being handled and they were nasty. we thought it would be better to go to a show. one woman is the secretary of the peninsula caged bird society and the other person is very active too. it's not a guarentee, but i think the quality and support will be better than petco. it's all a crap shoot. good luck. do your research. google and find finch people. if you just want zebra finches you can pretty much get them anywhere. they aren't, from what i know, the kind of birds to hold. but i may be wrong on that too.

A bird mart is more of a bird show that you can buy a bird at. I would say not to take your bird to it unless you are planing to sale it. This would be a great place to take your pet and make it sick. You never know what is going on with these breeders. You can get lucky and get a good price but not till the last few days of the show when they think they will have to take them back home with them.

A finch is a cheap bird and you should just go to petsmart or petco or any pet shop and get 10 or 20. If you are lookin for a larger bird like a conure on up you might want to check out the show but call some local breeders because you will get a better bird and at lower prices. And you can go visit them and see if it is a clean place or nasty.
