My children were playing in the backyard when I noticed the smell of gasoline. I imediatly went outside to find that the two older girls (3 and 4) were pouring gasoline out of the gas can to the lawn mower. They had gotten it on themselves and on my grass. I put the girls in the bath and now I'm worried that the dog steped in it too. What I need to know is 1- will the gas ignite under my dryer vent and 2- how do I clean it out of the grass for the dog 3- is my dog safe in the backyard while the gasoline is still fresh (he loves being outside). Only serious advise please.

So, I came home from work today and came in through the back door. Everything was fine. I went to the back door about an hour and a half later and my deck and screen door were infested!! They were covering my deck. There were easily hundreds if not thousands of them!! They look like brown ants with wings. I sprayed with bug spray that has worked well in the past. Hopefully they are gone. Does anyone know how I was infested so quickly and what type of insect does that? I'm in the Cleveland, Ohio area. The temp here is in the mid 70s it rained a bit yesterday and the day before.

It's well established now both that global warming is a very real international crisis akin to the threat of nuclear holocaust in its end result, and the threat is increasing with every day, and every plane taken by every traveller, and every car taken down the road. .. and every golf course that uses water that spreads fertilizer and pesticide around the near countryside, when the land could be returned to native trees for more oxygen for us all, and for birds to in turn help promote growth of more trees elsewhere.

People travel across the world just to see 'beautiful nature' and go hiking amongst the trees in New Zealand - more than the number of people who go there to play golf - so for local tourist opportunities in other countries too, it makes sense to plant more trees, and reduce, reuse and recycle old golf courses.

Save the world! Reclaim your local golf course for nature, the birds, the trees, and oxygen for you and your grandchildren to breath, now!

I discovered this morning that the auxiliary freezer in the garage was left ajar (best guess -- for 14 hours). All ice cream/popsicle type things were thawed completely. The thermometer inside said 32, but I don't think it was all over....most of the bagged vegetables seem thawed and the packaging on the boxed frozen dinners are soggy. Lots of other miscellaneous items, too...

I'm afraid I'll have to toss it all but I so hate to. What can I safely use over the next few days, assuming it thawed to refrigerator temperature (NOT room temperature)? What cannot be used at all? What can safely be refrozen?

-- dinners and pizzas
-- vegetables in plastic bags
-- cookie dough
-- baked beans and corn
-- meat that has partially thawed on one edge but the rest is frozen solid
-- boxes of popcorn shrimp and fish fillets (from grocery store)

Please, serious and knowledgeable answers only -- preferably from someone who works in the grocery industry or has had this happen to them!

Our stupid garbage collectors always throw our trash can lids and small trash cans in their truck. We have to put the lid on when we take the can to the curb because alot of kids and pets are in our area and they might get into the trash if there were no lid. We have lost 2 lids (and since you can't just buy a lid we have to buy new can each time) and a small kitchen sized trash can this way. Any ideas on how to stop this? Why would the garbage collectors do this over and over? Does this happen to you? It drives me crazy!!
