I live at a summer cmap and the mice are poop everywhere and trying to burrow through the carpet into my room. I can't handle killing them, and I can't get a cat, is there anyway that I could keep them at bay for a month or so?

They are dark, roundish, and have tiny silvery wings. They are smaller than a pin head but their bite is painful! I can kill them by squishing then easily with the tip of my forefinger. When I sat outside on my deck today a dozen or so bit me and I had to go inside. What are they? Can I spray my screens with something? I live in northern Illinois.

Hello,

We have got a fern in my house and my flatmate had it in her room, she started loosing her leaves and becoming yellow, she put it outside in the garden and it is exactly the same. I've decided to save the fern so, have you got any suggestions? Shall I cut all the yellow leaves and see if she start again having nice luxurious green leaves?

Thanks for your help!!

my daughter has left a hibiscus plant outside on a glass top patio table all summer. She waters it faithfully. Last Saturday evening she mentioned to her husband she could smell something burning in the back yard but couldn't determine a source. In the morning when she went out to hang some clothes out,she saw that the hibiscus was burnt to a crisp still smouldering. It had burnt from the roots up with just a couple of leaves left. The soil almost gone. She poured water over it and it steamed away as if still on fire. Would this have happened in here house if the plant was in it's normal spot in livingroom?

It has holes in it like a hive and is on the ceiling. Could it be mold? or maybe some kind of insect housing? I have never seen anything like it.

I don't want the door removed, I just want it blocked or hidden. I have a house I separated into 2-units. This door I'm hiding basically connects the house. With respect for privacy, how do I block this door and dampen the noise coming from/through the door?

I know the red ones are for a red fire, and the yellow ones are for a yellow fire, but these blue ones, and those black ones, what are they for? Also, I have decorated in mauve and peach, do you think that will make a difference in what kind of fires I have? Where can I get a mauve fire extinguisher, I am so tired, there, I said it tired of having these contraptions clashing with the Decor.

I live in London and our home has recently become infested with cockroaches. Although we had the place treated as soon as we saw one, they have returned. I am told the best thing to use is boric acid. Where can I buy this product in the UK (London)? I need to buy it soon as we have a little baby and I want to get rid of this problem. Thanks.

My dad stopped growing our vegetable garden when I was young and never explained why. I'd like to see if anybody out there can give some suggestions on how to get started and if it would be reasonable to do.

We're getting ready to build our home and we want a house layout where the kitchen is in the front of our home. I have looked at dozens of floor layouts and all of them have the kitchen in the back corner of the house.
Any ideas, anyone have the kitchen in the front?
I'm sure our home builder can help with this... but I'm starting to wonder if this is a stupid idea.
The reason we want this is because the way our house will face, the sun rises on the front right corner, and that is where I want the kitchen. We can't turn the face of the house for other reasons...

It started to peal in one place and someone came to fix it. Now it started pealing again in the same spot and two other places. City Furniture refuses to exchange it or return it. Can I lemon law like you would a car?

I have an intense phobia for rats, and a bunch of them have appeared in my backyard. The other night, I opened the outdoor grill to put on a steak and three rats jumped out of it, almost giving me a heart attack.

So I am looking for tips on getting rid of these things...FOR GOOD! and keeping them away as well. I especially would like to hear from people who have had experience with this type of stuff: Which method worked best for you? Which methods didn't work at all or as good?

Thanks!
Dave
