I purchased a wall unit for the Family room at City Furniture. I have a 1 year warranty which ends this December. So far City Furniture has had to come out to fix the unit twice. It started to peal in one place and someone came to fix it. Now it started pealing again in the same spot and two other places. City Furniture refuses to exchange it or return it. Can I lemon law like you would a car?

There is no commensurate "lemon law" for furniture, but you can enforce the contract. File a lawsuit for breach of contract in small claims court. It's cheap and you should easily win with those facts. Bring every piece of paperwork you have and take lots of pictures and bring witnesses.

p.s. Read the warranty carefully first. Make sure you are not compelled to resolve the dispute in arbitration. If you are, there should be instructions on how to start the process on the written warranty.

I would recommend that you go to small claims court, I have had great success with this process and if you have all your paperwork in order. You can rest assured of getting whats right. Due process works! you can even file on line and cost is only about 35.00. But before you do this send a certified registered letter to the company. This shows the court that you attempted to resolve your issues in a business manner. if you get no reply this will certainly help your case. Ive been 4 and 0 wins so far :o) Hope this helps

I agree with Henry. Advise the store that you are ready to take legal action to cure the problem. Obviously there is still humidity in the main material of the piece or poor adhesion of the materials.
