I inheirited vintage Noritake and there is no pattern name on it, but I know it's from the later half of the 1940's. And it has gold trim w/ black detail, like greek key almost, and the china is two-tone cream and white.
I went to replacement.com, but can't go thru all those patterns and some didn't even have pics.
By the way there is a large "M" on the bottom.
Any suggestions?

Our yard is beginning to be invaded by spiders & I can't stand it! Don't ask me what kind but there are big & small ones. The big spiders spin humongous webs near my front porch...So we have to be careful not to walk into it at night! It's horrible!!! Are there any good home remedies for killing spiders?

when I move into a condo. Are there places (people) who I can give my beloved plants to that will love and take care of them? One of them was my grandmother's and it's over 30 years old.

We live in a mid terraced house and one of our neighbour's have installed a wood burner.Im all for helping the environment but whenever it is working it usually smokes and often smells. The chimney is not as high as the roof so the wind seems to blow it towards our house and garden. We are getting increasingly frustrated of having to keep windows and doors shut to prevent smoke entering our house. Our 5 year old son also comments on the smell while playing in the garden.
Should we have to put up with it?
Are there any regulations regarding pollution via wood burners?
Should the chimney be higher than the roof by law?
We have not talked to the neighbours yet but any advice would be appreciated, Thanks

I have something that lives in my walls that you can hear chewing, that eats tupperware, wall, and wallpaper, not any food. I put rat poison down, in case it was a mouse or a rat, I now have several 2 to 3 inch circumference holes baseboard level in my walls. What should I do to get rid of whatever it is?

I'm just curious because I know you do have to be EPA certified to use refrigerant, so how does that work with students at a HVAC class in college studying to be hvac techs.

i have two connected room believe it or not, the extra room is all mine, also my two fold room has always been hot enough to kill the gereactric, seriously i wonder........

it's been that way for the whole ten years i had it, though i have grown used to it for all those years of my youth oh and i live in texas (never ever much snow you know? ever!) thinking about it is allready making me sad, but anyway i am over twice as old now and my body finally can no longer take this heat!

why is my room soooo hot? what can i do about it?

all i can say is it has three windows that take in the majority of the heat the house absorbs because my rooms are in the eastern direction of the house

jezz this heat is making me sick!

Can anyone list off some toiletpaper thin products or household items that can absorb water without tearing.

Something like a really thin, not rough towel.
Buyable products are fine too.
Thanks.

I would really like to know how much spray it takes to kill a spider. I'm tired of using half a can per spider. I don't stop spraying untill it lies lifeless, then I squish it. So really how much does it take? I just squirted one twice and it ran away and I just want to make sure it's dead. Seriously...thank u.

Actually, it's a Wood Stove. My roommate Douses some Kindling with Lighter Fluid, tosses a match on it and a couple minutes later throws a big Log of Oak and it burns perfectly.

He thinks he is a genius for figuring out such a brilliant idea for starting fires. All these years I've been crumpling up paper, strategically placing pieces of Kindling and gradually stoking the fire with smaller pieces of Cedar before I would dare put a big log of oak in the fire.

My Question Is:

Is it really a good idea to use lighter fluid in a wood stove? Or any possible dangers?

I know there is a reason why nobody I know does this. Please Help!

The majority of people who I visit or visit us automatically take their shoes off when entering the house. I have one relative who refuses to do it when she visits. Do you think we are unfair to ask her to take her shoes off. She makes areall fuss everytime and rain or shine wears shoes in our house!. My thoughts are that shoes are for outside!.
