I happened upon a man cleaning out his shed. He had an antique solid oak dining table and matching glass and wood storage cabinet. I asked if he was having a yard sale and he said he was thinking about it. I got both items for $50. Currently refinishing the tabletop due to scratches but no permanent damage. Had to make two trips to get the items home and by the time I made the second trip, he had almost finished "drinking" the money I gave him and I got a bunch more stuff, free for the hauling. Right place, right time.

I got a nice L-shaped wooden bench for $12 that I stripped the paint off of and refinished. A woman I know paid $100 for a diamond ring. She took it to a jewelry store and it appraised for $1000.
