Every room in my mobile home stays reasonably cool in the summer except for my bedroom. It's at least 10 degrees warmer in there than in the rest of the house. This mobile home has a metal roof and i should probably use a sealant of some sort but any suggestions as to how I can make my bedroom more bearable to sleep. We currently have a central air unit and cold air blows through the bedroom vent just fine but it's almost too hot to sleep in there.
How can i make it cooler fast???

I have a couch that is in good shape and its really comfy except for the fact that it has a few unsightly stains. Does anyone know if Home Depot's steam cleaner works on furniture as well as carpets? Or, does anyone know of a commercial chain store that rents furniture steam cleaners?

Because the Earth and it's inhabitants are dying don't you think a good step would be to alter the school curriculum to tech a few generations of children how to be more self sufficient and less reliant on outside sources. maybe we could teach medicine making, growing your own foods, building Earth friendly housing, solar and wind energy. Seems like everything we need we buy from Walmart and it falls aprt in no time at all. We buy medicines that do not work or are harmful to us. Why not make your own from the weeds growing in your back yard. Who said we all have to have perfectly manicured golf course looking lawns? The same companies that are selling us weed killers are selling us pills for our ills made from things out of the very plants (weeds) we are using their products to destroy. Let's change the curriculum. Maybe our children can save the planet if we do. And save themselves. Teach alchemy, teach coping skills, teach self sufficient housing and farming.

I have a retinal disease that makes me extremely photosensitive. I want softer lighting that won't irritate my eyes, but I don't know what to look for exactly. I know flourescent lighting is worst on my eyes and even 60 and 40 W seem too bright, but 20 W is too dim. What sorts of lighting might be less harsh?

I saved this chair from being thrown into the litter. I suppose it's a high quality and real leather- chair. What do you think? I'd like to know what style this is, from which decade it might be and if it's worth a try to sell it? via ebay? Thanks a lot!

The estate agents particulars stated that house was 'newly renovated and modernised.' We dont want to lose the house but worried about the rewire. I understand it may cost around £2000, should we try and renegotiate sale price, ask seller to have it rewired or just ignore it?

I'm trying to to start apple seeds growing in the fridge.

-The seeds came from storebought apples.
-I wrapped 18 seeds up in 2 damp paper towels, fairly spread out. This was a few days ago. I keep dampening, but don't see any results.

Three problems I think:
-I might be making the seeds too damp?
-(My fridge is on the fritz), and it is maybe too cold?
-The seeds are genetically altered, and won't grow?

I'm not really a horitculturalist, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

(I'm not expecting good apples, and I know it takes 6 or 7 years; I just felt like trying.)

Where you live do people hang out their clothes to dry?
Are there regulations about something so trivial?
I want to see how much money I can save not running the dryer constantly but I can't even find an outdoor drying line (or twirly) in any store and I haven't seen washing hanging in any neighborhood gardens.

Your thoughts?
