I purchased an orchid about 4 months ago. I beleive it is a Phaleonopsis orchid. It lives in a pot in my apartment. It lost all it's blooms about 2 months ago. Will it bloom again? How long will it take? Do I need to trim the stem that the old flowers were on, or will it bloom again on the old stem? Just want some more basic info!

My plant has been thriving in soil for about 2 years now. All of a sudden all of the bottom leaves have turned yellow! Someone please tell me why this happened, and what I can do to save it. It has always been in the same location.

I have several houseplants and we seem to have a massive outbreak of fungus gnats all of a sudden. I do allow my plants to dry out and remain so for several days before watering again. I check the moisture levels with a meter to be sure that I am not over watering. I do not want to have to purchase any chemical or bacterial insecticide. (I am a college student and don't seem to have a dime to spare at the moment.) What can I do to eliminate the fungus gnats and larvae efficiently?

I never find a lot... just 1 or 2 a week. They are never in my kitchen either... they are always in the bathroom, or in the kids' bedroom.

I have, on occasion, mistakenly left food out in the kitchen, and yet I never see them on the food in the morning or in the middle of the night when I come upon it.

Do I have an infestation? Or does one of the other attached apartments have them and they just come over on occasion??

Will it do me any good to have the exterminator come in since he will only spray my apartment, and not the whole building? I hate having the exterminator come since I have 2 kids and a dog, and I am worried about the effects of the pesticide.

What would you pay if someone came to your door with an aerial picture of your house or farm in a frame and everything. I was thinking anywhere from $60-$100. What do you think?

I have some stuff that I need to sell quick because I'm moving. I have lots of baby stuff, including a crib with matress (great condition for 100,00). Also I have adult Gap jackets, kids clothes and furniture in general. Do I get a better deal from my own garage sale or do I stop by the flea market and see how much they want to pay for my stuff? Help!

i have a serious problem with ants that has been going on all summer. usually ants have a trail that will lead you to the spot where they entered, but there isnt. most of them keep appearing in the bathrooms so im thinking that they are coming up the drains and it keeps getting worse. i have tried a lot of sprays and baits but nothing seems to work. i was wondering if anybody knows of and can recomend anything that really trully works on getting rid of and killings ants. so, anyone??

Is it just the estate agents fees (I have been quoted 1.65% by Halifax to sell my house valued at £150,000), or does the seller have other fees like do I have to get a solicitor or anything else to sell? (Ignore the HIPS fees).

Thanks

I have white all over in my much amended soil, which I amended years ago. I noticed in my new lawn clippings this year when I poured then into a pile they had the same white stuff so I figure this is some kind of imbalance like nitrogen etc ? I am not a scientist, but one guy said seeing that white stuff in my soil is bad for my plants, like serious. I know I can have my soil tested and all, but not much money here and I thought I'd ask the A&A experts as they usually know. thanks so much for real answers or caring :)

I had cut down some dead and dying pine trees around my home a few onths ago. They have been sitting as I have not been able to have them removed. They've become since become the main course for some boring beetle larvae. I can hear them chewing the wood, and see the piles of sawdust around the trunks. I have even seen a few of the beetles about. Should I be worried about them infesting my home? It's about 30 feet from the downed trees. What I really need to know is is my house at a greater risk because of the downed trees near it?
